I. Responsibilities

1. Ideological and theoretical education and value guidance. The Group should guide students to further study Xi Jinping’s thought on socialist with Chinese characteristics for a new era, learn the party’s theory and line, principles and policies, carry out the publicity and education on socialism with Chinese characteristics, the Chinese dream and the socialist core values, help students firmly establish the correct world outlook, outlook on life and values, and constantly enhance the “Four Consciousnesses” and strengthen “four self-confidence” to achieve “two maintenance”. Master the characteristics of students’ thought and behavior and their ideological and political situation, and help them deal with the specific problems of ideological understanding, value orientation, study and life, choosing jobs and making friends.

2. Party, league and class building. Carry out the work of selecting, training and motivating the student cadres, carry out the work of training and education for the student activists, carry out the work of developing student Party members and educational management services, and guide the building of student Party branches and class and League organizations.

3. Learning atmosphere construction. Get familiar with the basic situation of students’ major, stimulate their interest in learning, guide them to develop good learning habits and master the correct learning methods. Guide students to carry out extracurricular scientific and technological academic practice activities, to create a strong learning atmosphere.

4. Daily student affairs management. Carry out entrance education, graduates education and related management and service work. Organize and carry out military training for students. Organize the selection of various scholarships and grants. Guide students to apply for student loans. Organize students to carry out work study activities and help students with difficulties. Provide life guidance for students, promote students to get along with each other harmoniously and help each other.

5. Mental health education and consultation. Assist the mental health education institution of the University to carry out mental health education, carry out preliminary investigation and counseling on students’ psychological problems, organize and carry out publicity activities on mental health knowledge, and cultivate the rational, peaceful, optimistic and healthy attitude for students.

6. Network ideological and political education. Use the new media and new technology to promote the integration of traditional advantages of ideological and political work and information technology. Build an important network ideological and political education base to actively spread advanced culture. Strengthen students’ network literacy education, actively cultivate good Internet users on campus, and guide students to create network cultural works, carrying forward the main theme and spreading positive energy. Innovate the work path, strengthen the online interaction with students, and use the new network media to carry out ideological guidance, learning guidance, life guidance, psychological counseling for students.

7. Campus crisis response. Organize and carry out basic safety education. Participate in the formulation and implementation of the work plan for University and School (department) crisis events. Deal with the campus crisis, stabilize the situation, control the development of the situation, grasp the crisis information in time and report it according to the procedure. Participate in the post crisis response and summary research and analysis.

8. Career planning and career guidance. Provide students with scientific career planning and employment guidance and related services, help them establish a correct concept of employment, and guide them to the grassroots, to the west, to the places where the motherland needs most.

9. Theoretical and practical research. Strive to learn the basic theory of ideological and political education and related subject knowledge, participate in academic exchange activities in related subject fields, and participate in the research of ideological and political education topics or projects inside and outside the University.
