1. Brief Introduction

With a floor space of over 2000 m2, Engineering Practice Center owns 221 sets of instruments and equipment such as numerical-controlled lathes, numerical-controlled mills, processing center and automotive engines, with the total fixed assets of RMB 4,900,000.00 Yuan. There are 11 metalworking practice instructors, among which there are 2 masters and 1 technicians. Each of them undertakes the metalworking teaching and practice tasks of 37 classes, 13 specialties, 6 schools. There are over 1100 students participating in the metalworking practice, accounting 1/4 of the freshmen in the whole university.

2. Metalworking teaching

Metalworking teaching is classified into four classes including Class A, B, C and D according to the demands of the engineering specialties, among which there are 4 weeks for Class A, 2 weeks for Class B, 1.5 weeks for Class C and 1 week for Class D. Metalworking teaching contents includes center lathe practice, plain milling machine practice, planer practice, mill practice, numerical-controlled lathe practice, numerical-controlled mill practice, forging practice, welding practice, locksmith practice and assembly practice, which are carried out in three cycles of groups.
