Zhang Jing received her B.E. degree in optical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China) in 2012, her master’s degree from Paris-Sud University (France) in 2015, and her Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2019. In December 2020, she joined the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) as a professor.
Research statement:
• Design and system integration of multimodal sensor devices
• Signal processing algorithms and digital image processing based on artificial intelligence
• Application of fiber optic sensing systems in distributed sensing, communication systems, wearable devices, optoelectronic sensing, and energy fields
Her main research interests are advanced multi-functional optical fiber-based devices, functional sensor devices, and signal/image processing.

• 1 doctoral student was admitted in 2024 (majoring in Control Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Earth Exploration)

• The research group welcomes young talents at all levels with the background related to electronic information, signal and image processing, optics, physics, mechanics, and geology to join.
• The research group aims to cultivate students’ comprehensive abilities, and the research content involves hardware system construction, underlying code writing and signal processing, and prototype development. We have sufficient patience to communicate with students, provide timely guidance and assistance, welcome students with enthusiasm and patience to join the team, and hope to learn from each other.
• The research group has a first-class scientific research platform and maintains good academic cooperation with well-known experts and scholars from renowned domestic and foreign research institutions (such as the UK, Singapore, France, Australia, etc.) in the field.
