Zhang Jing received her B.E. degree in optical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China) in 2012, her master’s degree from Paris-Sud University (France) in 2015, and her Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2019. In December 2020, she joined the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) as a professor.
Research statement:
Optical fiber sensors
Signal processing algorithms and digital image processing
Design and preparation of new special optical fibers, including micro/nano structure optical fibers, semiconductor core optical fibers, single crystal fibers, energy storage and energy collection fibers
Application of special optical fiber in distributed sensing, wearable devices, photoelectric sensing, communication and energy fields
Her main research interests are advanced multi-functional optical fiber, optical fiber-based devices, functional sensor devices, and signal/image processing.
Admission & recruitment information:
4 postgraduate students will be admitted in 2023 (majoring in Information and Communication Engineering, Electronic Information)
1 doctoral student will be admitted in 2023 (majoring in Control Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Earth Exploration)
3 postdoctoral scholars will be recruited for 2023-2025.
In view of the characteristics of interdisciplinary and high interdisciplinary in the new type special fiber field, the research group welcomes young talents at all levels with the background related to electronic information, signal and image processing, optics, physics, mechanics, and geology to join.
The research group has a first-class scientific research platform and maintains good academic cooperation with well-known experts and scholars from renowned domestic and foreign research institutions (such as the UK, Singapore, France, Australia, etc.) in the field. The students can be recommended to study abroad, study for the doctoral degree and do postdoctoral work.
