To improve the discipline construction level of our School, at 1:00 p.m. on December 7, the experts in microelectronics were invited to conduct discipline diagnosis for our School. They discussed the double first-class undergraduate discipline construction and assessment of electronic information engineering,  first-class discipline construction of integrated circuit science and engineering, and the application of innovation laboratory platform with the leaders and key teachers of the School.
The meeting was presided over by Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party committee. First, Professor Jiang Shaoyong, president assistant and the director of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Scarce Strategic Mineral Resources, awarded the Letter of Appointment for Part-time Researchers to five experts, including Yu Jifang, on behalf of the University. Then, researcher Zhao from the Ninth Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation shared a report on aerospace microelectronics technology. Professor Yu Mingyan made a research report on the discipline construction of integrated circuit science and engineering. He reviewed the development process of integrated circuit science and engineering discipline, pointed out that the discipline was still in its infancy in China, with urgent development needs and broad application prospects, and also concluded that the research of this discipline was facing five challenges to be overcome by researchers. Professor Huang Tianye introduced the characteristics and advantages of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information. Secretary Qu Xianghua expressed his great hope to open up a new professional and research platform in the field of integrated circuits.

After the report, the experts had a discussion with the leaders of the Science and Technology Development Institute, and teacher representatives from the Department of Communications and Electronics on how to promote the development of integrated circuit discipline in China and how to build laboratories according to the characteristics of our University. At the meeting, both sides discussed and reached consensus on discipline exchange and cooperation, which promoted the deepening of friendly cooperation between the two sides and also pointed out the direction for the collaborative development of our School and the research institute.
