Science and Technology Cultural Festival|Notice of 2nd Communication Cup Contest of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in 2023

    In order to cultivate "hands-on", "innovative" and "collaborative" talents, and to create a better atmosphere for scientific and technical innovation, this School decides to hold 2nd Communication Cup Contest in 2023 and the relevant matters are notified as follows:

Part 1 Purpose

The contest aims to enhance students' awareness of scientific and technical innovation and cultivate their practical and hands-on ability. It is a science and technology contest integrating fun and knowledge, fully integrating students' professional study with the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship, and opening the door of scientific and technical innovation for the students in CUG.

Undergraduate students of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

Part 3 Contest System and Requirements

This "Communication Cup" contest adopts the "5+5" question setting model (i.e. 5 questions set by the enterprise + 5 regular questions)

The overall contest system: the contest is divided into two stages: preliminary and final, and the finalists will be announced on Sunday, May 28, 2023, and the final entries will be accepted and judged in late June 2023.

Questions set by the enterprises are shown as follows:

(i) Design of aerial magnetometer compensation software for aircraft;

(ii) Design of the Larmor frequency meter for the adiabatic pump;

(iii) Intelligent analysis tools for interface software operation process;

(iv) Whip antenna simulation;

(v) Electromagnetic secondary induction transceiver system.

Regular questions are shown as follows:

(i) Adaptive filters;

(ii) FM signal processing experimental circuits;

(iii) Signal distortion measurement devices;

(iv) Digital-analog signal hybrid transmission transceiver;

(5) Wireless transceiver system for two-way voice simultaneous transmission.

Part 5 Prizes

1. Department of Communication of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information will select the corresponding number of optimal solutions according to the registered teams. The spending on the elements and components and the plate making will be assumed by this School in the stage of fabrication (RMB 500 Yuan at most). The list of elements and components shall be submitted to the judges for review. After the review, the team can purchase the elements and components by itself, ask for the invoices with CUG as the payer and then uniformly reimburse it later. Other teams that have not been selected are encouraged to participate at their own expense, and the final award will be judged according to the unified criteria, regardless of the solutions selected or not.

2. In principle, the fabrication shall be implemented strictly in accordance with the finalists' proposals. In case of any change in the list of the elements and components, written approval from the judges is required.

3. Organize the evaluation and acceptance in accordance with the national competition scoring standards. According to the total score, several first, second and third prizes will be awarded (according to the number of participating teams), and certificates and related awards will be awarded at the level of this School, with the following rewards: the first prize will be issued a certificate and rewarded with RMB 2500 Yuan; the second prize will be issued a certificate and rewarded with RMB 1500 Yuan; and the third prize will be issued a certificate and rewarded with RMB 800 Yuan.

Part 6 Registration time and manner

The registration period starts from May 8, 2023 (Monday) and ends at 12:00 noon on May 14 (Sunday).

The contest requires registration in form of a team, and one student shall not register for more than one teams. The participants per team for all content events shall not exceed 3 students. The paper registration form of the team from this School will be submitted to the relevant person in charge by the science and technology committee member of each class, while the registration forms of the teams from other schools will be submitted directly to the corresponding person in charge, whose contact information is shown as follows:

Part 7 Others

(1) For the teams participating in the contest, if the teams from School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information need to uniformly purchase materials, they shall submit the material fee together with the registration form to the science and technology committee member of their class, who will then hand them over to the relevant person in charge; the registration form and material fee of the teams from other schools shall be handed over to the corresponding person in charge directly.

(2) Before the science and technology committee member submits the paper registration form and material fee to the person in charge, he/she shall check the registration information and the amount of the fee carefully. Please make clear the name of the class and the team leader for check in handing over the fee.

(3) In case of any change in the team members after registration, please contact the person in charge for registration in time.

(4) The materials for this contest are self-financed except for being selected.
