The National Scholarship for Postgraduates is the highest honor and reward set up by the state for outstanding full-time postgraduates. In order to do a good job in the evaluation of this award, according to the spirit of the “Measures for the Evaluation of National Scholarship for Postgraduates in General Higher Education Institutions” (JC [2014] No. 1) and the “Measures for the Management of Student Aid Funds” (CKJ [2019] No. 19), and in accordance with the requirements of the “Interim Measures for the Administration of National Scholarship for Postgraduates of China University of Geosciences” (DDXB [2012] No. 65), the “Rules for the Implementation of National Scholarship for Postgraduates of China University of Geosciences” (ZDDYF [2018] No. 54), and the “Notice of the Graduate School on the Evaluation of National Scholarship for Postgraduates in 2021”, we hereby notify the matters related to the evaluation of National Scholarship for Postgraduates in 2021 as follows.
I. Award Criteria and Indicator Allocation
1. The national scholarship for graduate students will be awarded at the rate of RMB 30,000/student for doctoral students and RMB 20,000/student for master students. The national scholarship will be awarded to the winning students at one time before December 31 of the year of evaluation, and the honorary certificate printed by the state is expected to be issued in the spring semester of the following year after it is sent by the competent department.
2. According to the “Notice on the Evaluation of National Scholarship for Postgraduates in 2021” of Graduate School, there are 6 national scholarships for master students and 1 national scholarship for doctoral students in this year.
In addition, there are 44 public places for graduate students, including 10 for doctoral students and 34 for master's students, which will be evaluated on a campus-wide basis and awarded to the units with higher training quality, the characteristics and advantageous disciplines, basic disciplines and disciplines in urgent need of the country. The number of candidates recommended by the school to participate in the university-wide public place evaluation should not exceed two times the number of school places.
II. Target Applicants
Full-time (full-time study) graduate students (excluding MBA/MPA, in-service graduate students and those who will defend and graduate before December 31, 2021), who have the nationality of the People's Republic of China and are enrolled in the national graduate enrollment program, should be within their basic years of study and have completed the filing, fee payment and registration procedures as required.
III. Selection Conditions
Meet the selection criteria stipulated in the “Interim Measures for the Administration of National Scholarship for Postgraduates of China University of Geosciences (CUG)” and the “Detailed Rules for the Evaluation of National Scholarship for Postgraduates of China University of Geosciences” (see the website of the Graduate School: http://graduate.cug.edu.cn/info/1072/1122.htm).
IV. Application and Evaluation Process
1. Postgraduates who meet the application requirements should voluntarily declare and fill in the application materials such as the “2021 National Scholarship Application Form”. The results for evaluation should be obtained between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021, which should be completely entered in the "Degree-Paper Results Management" menu of the Graduate Management Information System of the university. For postgraduates who have won the national scholarships, the results cannot be reused. The paper results for evaluation should be papers published in journals recognized by the university. The partition is subject to the “Notice on the Issuance of the Classification of Papers in Science and Technology and Humanities and Social Sciences Journals (DDXBF [2018] No.49), and the papers published in the “Notice on the Disapproval of Some Journals in Postgraduate Education Management” (http://graduate.cug.edu.cn/info/1214/5721.htm) published by the Graduate School will not be recognized.

3. It is planned that on September 30, the National Scholarship Evaluation Committee for Postgraduates of the School will organize the evaluation and reply, and the mode will be 5 minutes of presentation and 3 minutes of questioning. Please make PPT in advance. The specific time and place will be notified separately.
4. Doctoral and master’s students who are not shortlisted by the School can declare the public places of the University, and the application materials must be examined and signed and sealed by the School. The requirements for submission of relevant materials are the same as in the above table. The selection of public places in the university will be conducted in the form of public defense, which will be organized by the National Scholarship Evaluation Office for Postgraduates, and the results of the selection will be publicized for 5 days. Further notice will be given for the time of the defense.
