Our students Achieved Excellent Results in the 18th National College Students’ Innovation Competition of Advanced Drawing Technology and Product Information Modeling!

 The final of the 18th National College Students’ Innovation Competition of Advanced Drawing Technology and Product Information Modeling was successfully held at Taiyuan University of Technology from July 26th to 29th. This event attracted a total of 400,000 students this year. After preliminary school-level and provincial-level competitions, more than 12,000 students from more than 10,000 colleges and universities across the country entered the final round to compete in drawing skills and innovation abilities. With the strong support of the Undergraduate School and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), 11 contestants won 1 second prize and 4 third prizes in the national competition (single event), and 1 third prize for the group, totaling 6 national awards. In addition, at the 5th Hubei Advanced Drawing Technology and Product Information Modeling Competition for College Students in June 2025, our university won 1 second prize and 7 third prizes.

The Undergraduate School and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) have always attached great importance to this competition. At the beginning of the semester, they launched the competition planning to fully mobilize students to actively participate, and successfully held the 3rd College Students’ Innovation Competition of Advanced Drawing Technology and Product Information Modeling of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in April 2025. Our teachers, including Gan Jinqiang and Zhou Ye, have carried out pre-competition mobilization and competition organization for all students in the school. They have also held multiple meetings to discuss the competition situation, invited senior students to answer questions and clarify doubts, and organized two months of pre-competition training to provide maximum support for participating students.

The “Higher Education Cup” National College Students’ Innovation Competition of Advanced Drawing Technology and Product Information Modeling is the highest level national competition in the field of graphics courses, jointly organized by the Teaching Guidance Committee for Engineering Graphics Courses in Higher Education Institutions of the former Ministry of Education, the Drawing Technology Professional Committee of the China Graphics Society, and the Product Information Modeling Professional Committee of the China Graphics Society. In 2018, it was included in the national ranking of subject competitions for ordinary universities by the China Association of Higher Education.

The competition aims to cultivate students’ craftsmanship spirit, stimulate their innovative consciousness, explore the development direction of graphics, and innovate the methods and means of drawing carriers. The purpose is to promote teaching, learning, and improvement through competitions, comprehensively improve the graphic learning ability of college students, and cultivate a large number of outstanding talents for the transition from Made in China to Created in China.
