Recently, Qu Xianghua, of the Party Secretary of this School, Ning Fulong, Dean of this School, and Deputy Dean Wen Guojun and Huang Tianye, as well as Zhao Quan, Director of Teaching and Experiment Center for Mechanical Engineering, paid a visit to School of Mechanical Engineering of Southeast University and School of Mechanical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University for investigation and exchange. They also visited YAECO Engineering Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and SGIDI Engineering Consulting (Group) Co., Ltd., with the purpose of deepening inter-university cooperation, strengthening university-enterprise linkage, and accelerating the discipline construction and talent cultivation of this School to a new level.
At School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, the Party Secretary Wang Jun, Dean Fei Qingguo, Deputy Dean Liu Xiaojun, Dean Assistant Li Yanbin and Hu Tao warmly received the delegation. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on core issues such as interdisciplinary and specialty construction, management of scientific research and innovation platforms, postgraduate training and management, and construction of performance evaluation mechanisms. During the discussion, both sides shared their experiences and practices in disciplinary integration and innovation, research team management, and the cultivation of practical abilities for postgraduates, and proposed new ideas and methods to address the current challenges. After the meeting, the delegation visited the Practice and Innovation Center of School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, highly appreciated its advanced experimental equipment and innovative practical teaching mode, and thought that its experience in cultivating students' practical ability and innovative thinking was worth learning.
At School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Party Secretary Hu Yongxiang, Deputy Dean Meng Yan, and Liu Zhenfeng, the Deputy Director of the Center had in-depth exchanges with the delegation. Both sides focused on key areas such as discipline construction, talent introduction, construction of teaching and research platform, student training and management, and performance reform, and exchanged views on how to optimize resource allocation, enhance research and innovation capabilities, and improve the talent training system. During the communication, both sides expressed their desire to further strengthen cooperation, achieve complementary advantages, and share resources. Subsequently, the delegation visited the Basic Experiment and Innovation Center, and deeply understood its characteristics and highlights in experimental teaching, scientific research and innovation.
In addition, the delegation also visited YAECO Engineering Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and SGIDI Engineering Consulting (Group) Co., Ltd. for exchange. During the visit, the delegation had extensive exchanges with the company leaders on industrial development trends, talent needs, industry-university-research cooperation, and so on. Enterprise representatives shared cutting-edge technology and practical experience in the industry based on actual cases. Both sides reached a preliminary cooperation intention on strengthening university-enterprise cooperation, jointly building practice bases, and promoting the transformation of scientific payoffs, laying a foundation for the precise matching of talent cultivation in this School with enterprise needs.
The research and exchange activities has built a bridge for communication and cooperation with the universities and the enterprises, and broadened the working ideas of the School in discipline construction, talent cultivation, and scientific research innovation.
