Recently, Vice President Wang Wenqi visited our School for survey, and school leaders Qu Xianghua and Ning Fulong, and other relevant personnel participated in this activity. The purpose of this survey is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current situation of the school and to provide guidance and support for its future development planning and reform direction.

At the meeting, Dean Ning Fulong made a detailed report on the current situation, development plan, reform progress, key work points, and breakthrough points of the School. The report focused on the disciplinary development plan, professional optimization, performance allocation scheme, construction of new engineering disciplines, and key work in 2025.

After listening to the report, Vice President Wang Wenqi fully affirmed the work of the School and believed that the development plans and initiatives of the School meet the requirements of the current environment. He emphasized that in the current external environment, the School needs to deepen higher education reform, focus on promoting the adjustment and optimization of professional disciplines, and grasp the time rhythm of discipline optimization. In the construction of new engineering disciplines, it is necessary to come up with practical reform initiatives and practical programs. The School should clarify its future development direction, and actively meet the national strategies and university needs based on its own advantages and positioning. Furthermore, the School should also focus on team integration and expand the scope of cooperation, so that more young teachers can participate in it. The School can also introduce the competition activities of famous enterprises into undergraduate teaching to enhance students’ practical ability and innovative thinking.

Vice President Wang Wenqi further pointed out that the School should focus on development, improve the top-level design of talent training, use and assessment, and establish incentive mechanisms for extraordinary talent training. It is necessary to strengthen enterprise-university cooperation, establish a scientific and reasonable performance appraisal incentive mechanism, and reward teachers who have made outstanding contributions to discipline construction. The School should focus on cultivating versatile researchers, plan practical teaching in advance, and create future national level teaching demonstration centers. In scientific research, it is necessary to strengthen the construction of provincial-level scientific research platforms, give rewards first, and then carry out competitive application and other work, to promote organized scientific research, form the “expert + innovation team” model, and serve the advantageous disciplines of the university. In addition, the School should attach importance to the transformation of patent achievements, strengthen the integration of industry and education, and promote closer and wider cooperation. In terms of secondary management in the university and school, the School should reasonably consider system construction and gradually deepen the reform of “streamlining administration and delegating powers, management and improving services”.

Regarding the future development positioning of the School, Vice President Wang Wenqi asked the School to align its own positioning, optimize existing majors through differentiated competition and cooperation, focus on the field of "intelligent manufacturing", and strengthen its scientific and technological research and development capabilities. In particular, he emphasized the need to aggressively promote AI-enabled curriculum development or risk obsolescence.

Vice President Wang Wenqi said that the School should have clear plans for key work in 2025, set 1-5 work goals, and clarify 1-2 breakthrough points. All staff of the School should maintain a positive working state, establish crisis awareness, eliminate the phenomenon of "lying flat", and create a good school ecology. The School should build a team that dares to innovate and work hard, strengthen teamwork and collaborative research, actively seek support from all sides, and promote the development of the school and the university with outstanding contribution.

This survey provides important guidance and direction for the development of the School and the School will take this opportunity to actively implement various work requirements and strive to promote the undertakings of the School to a new level.
