Graduate School Conducts In-depth Research on the Degree Programs Construction in Training Unit

(Reported by Miao Qi and Zhang Xiang) On the morning of March 20, Zhao Kuidong, dean of the Graduate School, and Wang Lei, deputy dean of the Graduate School, led a delegation to conduct a special investigation on the construction of mechanical degree programs at the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information. Qu Xianghua, secretary of the Party Committee of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, Ning Fulong, dean of the School, Huang Tianye, deputy dean of the School, Prof. Hao Guocheng, Prof. Ge Mingfeng and other related faculty representatives attended the meeting.

 

At the meeting, Huang Tianye briefly introduced the current situation, key work, main problems, and next steps of the degree program construction in the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information.

Wang Lei introduced the national policies and overall situation of the degree program construction in the previous round of degree program application, focusing on the existing opportunities and challenges faced by the mechanical degree program. She put forward constructive guidance and suggestions, and provided detailed answers and feedback on the relevant issues raised on site.

Zhao Kuidong fully affirmed the efforts made by the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in the construction of degree programs. He put forward three requirements for further improving the construction of degree programs. The first is to plan scientifically and unite efforts. As the "top leader" project, the construction of degree programs should have clear target positioning and development ideas, improve coordination mechanisms, and form a working force. The second is to focus on problems and implement precise policies. Focusing on national strategies and regional economic and social development needs, we should pay close attention to the urgently needed disciplines and professional fields in the country, further refine disciplinary directions, highlight characteristics and advantages, and achieve rigorous logic and informative data. The third is to solidify the foundation and strengthen the connotation. During the construction period, the School should benchmark the standard, forge strengths and make up weaknesses, enhance internal strength, and continuously promote the classified development of academic degree and professional degree graduate education of the School. The Graduate School will provide support services for the construction of degree programs, and collaborate with relevant departments of the University to promote the optimization of degree program settings, so as to promote the high-quality development of graduate education of the University.

Ning Fulong stated that the School will establish a special work team for the construction of degree programs, focus on the urgent needs of the country, take goals and problems as the guidance, establish a work ledger, refine task division and consolidate work responsibilities, to promote the construction of degree programs in the School to a new level.

Qu Xianghua said that the School is very grateful to the Graduate School for its support and guidance to the degree program construction work. In the future construction of this degree program, the School will deeply understand the spirit of the relevant national documents and the connotation of the degree program construction, take the initiative to plan as soon as possible, manage the difficulties, unblock the points, strength the weaknesses, comprehensively strengthen intra school collaboration and external communication, comprehensively deepen the cooperation between the university and enterprises in educating people, and comprehensively improve the quality of the degree program construction.

The leaders and academic backbones of each discipline supplemented the difficulties faced in the process of degree program construction, and actively provided suggestions for the high-quality development of the degree program.
