Cheng Zhuo, Associate Professor of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information Won the Title of "Most Popular Teacher"

In order to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensively implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, the 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the National Conference on Education, vigorously carry forward the spirit of educators, further promote the construction of teacher ethics and style, adhere to the standard for good teacher of “Four Haves”, create a strong atmosphere of respecting teachers and valuing education, encourage teachers to actively devote themselves to undergraduate teaching, continuously improve the quality of undergraduate education and teaching, and be the best teachers for students in learning, working and conduct, the Student Union of the School organized the 2024 "Most Popular Teachers" selection activity according to the requirements of relevant documents and taking into consideration of the actual situation of the School. Upon recommendation by the School and review by the University, a total of 19 most popular teachers were selected, and Associate Professor Cheng Zhuo of this School was among them!


Cheng Zhuo, associate professor of the Department of Electronic Information Engineering of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, has been awarded the Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress of Hubei Province in 2021(research and application of the high-performance Internet of Things and intelligent operation and maintenance key technologies inspired by video perception), the Award for Science and Technology Progress in Satellite Navigation and Positioning, and the National First Prize (key technologies and applications of Beidou early warning and twin emergency response for rainstorm disasters in mountain canyons)

Taking teaching and educating people as his own responsibility, he undertakes the teaching of professional courses such as “Application of Microcontroller and Embedded System”, and practice course of “Teaching Internship of Electronic System Production and its Process” in the field of electronic information engineering for many years, and has achieved good teaching results; with the goal of cultivating students' engineering thinking and practical ability, he systematically carries out the teaching and research practice, and has completed more than 10 teaching and researching projects as the principal investigator or participant. Adhering to the “student-centered”, he is involved in the whole chain of talent cultivation such as admission promotion, curriculum construction, teaching and research reform, laboratory construction, internship base construction, innovation and entrepreneurship guidance, guidance for further education, career planning and employment guidance, and graduate visits. He focuses on cultivating students' innovative spirit and competitive awareness, guiding the “Robot Maker Association”, organizing the preparation training and participation in several electrical and robotics competitions in the School, actively guiding students to carry out scientific research training for college students innovation programs, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship practice teams.
