Good News! Professor Huang Tianye was Honored as “Scholarly Mentors and Beneficial Friends to Graduate Students”.


According to the Implementation Measures for the Selection of "Scholarly Mentors and Beneficial Friends to Graduate Students" of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and the requirements of relevant notices, Professor Huang Tianye of this School has been awarded the title of the Tenth " Scholarly Mentors and Beneficial Friends to Graduate Students" after being nominated by the graduate student associations of various training units, reviewed and recommended by party organizations, and evaluated on site.


Huang Tianye, professor, doctoral supervisor, IEEE Senior member, has been selected for the "Chutian Talent Program" and "Chutian Scholar Program" in Hubei Province, is the head of Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Team, selected as the "World’s Top 2% Scientists - Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking" by Elsevier, and is also a professor of industry under the “3551 Optics Valley Talent Program” of the East Lake National New Technology Development Zone. He is mainly engaged in the research in optoelectronic information and earth science instruments and related fields, has presided over 9 provincial and ministerial projects, including the major scientific instrument development project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key R&D Program of Hubei Province, and the program supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and he has participated in the projects supported by the National Key Research and Development Program and Hubei Science and Technology Innovation Program (major projects) as a key member. He has published more than 100 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author in related research fields, has been authorized 10 national invention patents, and has been invited to write a chapter in Springers series and has published one monograph. He is the Secretary of IEEE Sensors and Systems Council, the “Vice Science and Technology President” of Hubei Province, a Director of Hubei Laser Society, and the ACP Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Photonics Technology Letters. He has been awarded one second and one third prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Hubei Province, one second prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from China National Light Industry Council, and the OGC2024 Young Scientist Award.
