From September 7 to 8, 395 undergraduates of Grade 2023 from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information visited Wuhan BYD Automotive Co., Ltd., Wuhan FiberHome Communication Technologies Co., Ltd., Cubic Sensor and Instrument Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Haier Water Heater Co., Ltd. in batches to understand the development prospect of the industry, strengthen the professional identity, and have a good “first lesson” of professional enlightenment education and career education.

During the visit, the new students had detailed exchanges with enterprise staff on issues such as professional development, enterprise employment standards, and research hotspots. All of them said that they had gained a lot from the “enterprise trip”, and had a new understanding of their majors and future career development. Looking forward to the just-started university life, they should continue to cultivate their own learning ability and comprehensive ability, and strive to be the new engineering leading talents with strong innovation and practical abilities, as well as a sense of patriotism and international perspective.

An Enterprise Trip” is an important part of university-enterprise collaborative education activities for “Boosting Youth Dreams and Practicing Craftsman’s Sprit”, and is also an important measure of this School to combine the ideological and political education with students’ career planning and development, as well as their personal growth needs. This year, for the first time, it has been integrated into the entrance education activities for new students, bridging the “first kilometer” of university-enterprise collaborative education and realizing the full coverage of university-enterprise collaborative education in the undergraduate training process. In the future, the school will continue to focus on the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and morality and promote the all-round development of students from more dimensions of school-enterprise collaborative education.
