On July 16, the National Finals of the 10th “Datang Cup” National College Students’ New Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition came to an end at Beihang University. Two teachers from this School, Li Xingmei and Wang Jiahao, led their team members to participate in the competition and achieved gratifying results, winning 2 national first prizes, 3 second prizes and 2 third prizes. This is the first time for this School to get the national first prize in the “Datang Cup” competition, and also the best result among the participating colleges and universities from Hubei Province this year!

The competition covered more than 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, with a total of more than 500 colleges and universities including Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. The number of participants reached over 35,000, which set a new record for the number of participants in previous years. After the online national selection competition, more than 800 contestants finally came to Beijing to participate in the national finals. The core of the competition is to use real equipment, scenarios and problems as the basis of the competition, and the contestants are required to compete in 5G technology principles and 5G engineering practice, etc., and to demonstrate their professional technical level and practical innovation ability by solving practical problems.

The “Datang Cup” National College Students’ New Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition is a national innovation and practice-oriented competition, which is sponsored by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Association of Communication Enterprises, and co-organized and hosted by CICT Mobile, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and the Electronic Information Professional Group of Beijing Colleges and Universities, with the assistance of Beihang University, North China University of Technology, and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

It is reported that this School has always adhered to its own schooling orientation, actively implemented the talent cultivation model of “school-enterprise cooperation, and industry-education integration”, and closely cooperated with CICT Datang Mobile Communication Technology Co., Ltd., forming the “collaborative education” mechanism between university and enterprise. This mechanism lays a solid foundation for the career development of students and provides strong support for the promotion of industrial development through the form of “promoting teaching, learning and creation through competition”.
