[Reported by Pan Li] A few days ago, the awarding ceremony of 2022 Hubei Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest (TI Cup) and the seminar on the reform of experimental teaching of electronic information were held in Enshi, in which the heads of electronic information disciplines and instructors of electronics contest from the universities in Hubei attended. The team composed of Ji Jiajun, Zhang Feng and Song Dehao was awarded the highest prize of the provincial undergraduate group - "TI Cup" by the contest organizing committee.
In the awarding session, Ji Jiajun was invited to deliver a speech at the conference, expressing his gratitude to the organizing committee of the contest, the team of instructors of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information and the teachers of professional courses.
In the plenary lecture, Professor Huang Tianye, the head of Electronic Information Engineering, shared his experience in exploring the innovative education model of the electronic information engineering program with the topic of Exploration of New Engineering Education Model with University-Enterprise Dual-Cycle Coupling.
In the expert guidance report session of the electronic design contest, Prof. Ye Dunfan, as a senior expert representative of the expert team of the contest, introduced the case study of typical excellent electronic design contest works, examples and key points of writing technical reports, suggestions for comprehensive assessment of preparation for electronic design contest, and key contents of the evaluation of electronic design contest in the form of special report.
In the group discussion session, Associate Professor Zhang Xiangli, Head of Department of Telecommunications, Professor Hao Guocheng, Director of the Department of Communication, and Associate Professor Cheng Zhuo, the key instructor of the electronic design contest, shared their experience in the establishment of the contest-teaching integration curriculum system and online course resource sharing, how to effectively support the practice of innovation and entrepreneurship education through the contest, the expansion of the coverage of the contest on the cultivation of students' innovation and practical ability, and the optimization and reform of the evaluation mechanism of the contest. The seminar also made suggestions to the expert group of the contest.
It was reported that the seminar was an annual event hosted by the Organizing Committee of China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling in Hubei, with the theme on exchanging experience in training talents of electronic information in the universities in Hubei. The attendants of CUG and more than 140 guests from more than 30 brethren colleges in Hubei, such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University and Wuhan University of Technology, gathered together to discuss the reform of professional practice and education of electronic information.
In recent years, this School has actively upgraded the undergraduate teaching quality, pushed forward the construction of grass-roots teaching organizations, persevered in the research, exploration and practice of collaborative education model with deep integration of industry-teaching-competition; actively opened up Wuhu and other off-campus industry-university-research bases, upheld the concept of teaching-competition integration with front-line professional teachers guiding the contests, and strived to build a "double-teacher" teaching team; the teaching level of professional teachers has been significantly improved, and they have won many awards in the construction of first-class undergraduate programs and first-class courses, as well as various national teaching contests.
