On Apr. 13, this School held Year 2003 Opening Ceremony of the Training Class for Key Student Party Members. Liu Jie, A standing member of Party committee and the Vice President of CUG, Yu Xiaozhou, Deputy Party Secretary of this School, all counselors and the key student party members attended the opening ceremony. Counselor Liu Biao presided over the opening ceremony.  

All stood up and sang the national anthem.

Du Yu, the Secretary of Youth League Committee of this School led the participant Party members to take a solemn oath and review the Party admission oath.  

Yu Xiaozhou introduced Implementation Plan of the Training Class for Key Student Party Members of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information and said that the Party Committee of this School decided to established a platform for theoretical learning and practical exchange the key student Party members to further strengthen the actual effects of the student Party building. The training class was targeted toward tamping theoretical basis, consolidating the cultivation of party spirit, putting the routine work into place and doing well in exemplary demonstration", and carried out series of training activities. She hoped all of the key student Party members could gain from the learning, make some achievements from the learning and make full use of what they learnt.    

Liu Jie made a topical tutorial report. He elaborated the contents of 20^th CPC National Congress in detailed in the report entitled Deeply Learning and Implementing the Spirits of 20^th CPC National Congress and Giving Assistance to Chinese Path to Modernization with Youth, profoundly illuminated the Chinese characteristics, essential requirements, major principles and great significance of the Chinese path to modernization. In combination with the historic achievements in the higher education in the great reform in the past 10 years in the new era and the great arrangement for education, science and technology and talents work of 20^th CPC National Congress, he pointed out that we should continue to accelerate the Chinese path to education modernization in understanding the education orientation and layout of the Chinese path to modernization. He said, as the intersection point with the most concentrated education, science and technology and talents, the higher education should follow the correct education purposes and value orientation, excavate the characteristics of the universities, be firm in development confidence and walk out a new Chinese path to modern universities.   

Liu Jie briefly reviewed the development course of CUG in the past 70 years and stressed that CUG had been always working together in unity with the Party and the country, staying true to the mission, the orientation, the pursuit and the prototype and remembering the mission of education in each stages of the socialist modernization. he said that CUG would be targeted towards "four-excellence", serve the construction of "A Beautiful China & A Habitable Earth" and make contributions to the Chinese path to modernization. he hoped that CUGERs should follow the Party, actively seize the historic opportunities and make contributions to the construction of the socialist modern country in an all-round way!.
