Teachers in This School Achieved Good Results in the Finals of 6th Teaching Competition of Young Teachers of Electronic Information Specialty in National Higher Education

[Reported by Pan Li] In the finals of 6th Teaching Competition of Young Teachers of Electronic Information Specialty in National Higher Education ended on Mar. 25-26, 2023, Teacher Zhang Xiangli and Li Xingmei in This School won the second and third prize respectively and the competition courses were Communication Electronic Circuits. It was the second time that the players in This School entered the finals with the course of Communication Electronic Circuits and won the best results in history.  

Teaching Competition of Young Teachers of Electronic Information Specialty in National Higher Education is a top teaching competition of electronic information specialty held by Electronic Information Teaching Advisory Board, Ministry of Education to implement the spirits of the 19th National Congress of the CPC and deeply accelerate the class teaching reform and it has been held for 6 times since 2017. The competition was divided into two stages: the preliminary competition and the finals. This competition was undertaken by Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the preliminary competition was launched in April 2022 in four competition zones including East China, West China, South China and North China, totally 653 players from 215 universities in 28 provinces and municipalities took part in the competition and finally 182 players from 97 universities was selected for the finals. Teacher Zhang Xiangli and Li Xingmei in This School entered the finals with the first and second prize in South China Competition Zone. The finals were held in Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications on Mar. 25-26, 2023. The board of review was composed of 6 national renowned teachers, 25 provincial renowned teachers and 10 committees of Electronic Information Teaching Advisory Board, and scored the players in onsite teaching contents, teaching operation, teaching means, combination of micro-course and teaching contents, teaching art, characteristics and effects in form of blind review and finally selected 32 winners for the first prize, 54 winners for the second prize and 85 winners for the third prize.

After registration, with the care and support of the leaders at different levels of This School, the players actively prepared for the competition, ground the lessons and made efforts to improve teaching quality and curriculum construction of the professional curriculum and accelerate the disciplinary development with the teaching competition as an opportunity. This time, just because this School firmly seized the teaching quality and actively accelerated the curriculum construction, two teachers in this School won the prizes synchronously. As a large teaching school, School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information has been always paying high attention to the upgrading of the undergraduate teaching quality, firmly seized the professional curriculum construction and training of the innovation capability of the student and established a series of national and provincial top quality courses including Metallic Material and Heat Treatment, Information Theory and Coding and Electrotechnics and Electronics and so on. Especially, the discipline of electronic information has been in rapid development in recent two years and two electronic information specialties including electronic information engineering and communication engineering were approved as the national class-one undergraduate program and the provincial class-one undergraduate program in 2022.This time, two teachers in this School won the prizes in the competition synchronously, further strengthening the related exchange between the electronic information specialty of this School with other universities and effectively upgrading the recognition and influence of the electronic information specialty of this School in the universities.
