Vice President Liu Jie Gave a Special Ideological and Political Class to the Students of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information

At 14:30 on July 8, Prof. Liu Jie, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, was invited to give a special ideological and political class entitled “Welcoming the 20th CPC National Congress and Continuing the Road to Common Prosperity” to the students of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information. Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School, all teachers of the Student Affairs Leading Group, the main student leaders and representatives of student party members were present to study.

Before class, teachers and students watched four videos together. The videos were case studies to vividly clarify the scientific connotation, important significance, solid foundation and target tasks of promoting common prosperity in the new development stage.

During the class, Liu Jie started with the basic concept and made it clear that common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism, the unremitting pursuit of the Communists, and a major political strategic task in the new era, not only an important feature of Chinese-style modernization, but also a political issue that concerns the hearts and minds of the people and the ability to build the long-term ruling foundation of our Party. On the basis of theoretical explanation, guided by cases, Liu Jie led the students to review the glorious course of poverty eradication, look forward to the beautiful blueprint of rural revitalization, discuss the deep meaning of the times of common prosperity, and analyze the basic principles, important measures, key paths and power guarantee to take the road of common prosperity in the new era.

After that, the students spoke freely about the impact of common prosperity on the development of their hometowns and their personal life, study and employment. They all expressed their determination to live up to the ardent hope of the people, to meet the challenges with a positive outlook, to actively integrate into the great practice of common prosperity, and to fulfill the youthful vow of “Please rest assured that the powerful country has me”.

At the end of the class, Liu Jie put forward ardent hopes to the students: first, we should establish the aspiration of serving the country and the people, and be a down-to-earth and promising striver; second, we should learn and master excellent skills, strengthen the awareness of active learning, make full use of learning opportunities in school, and learn professional skills to serve the country and the people; third, we should aim at the needs of the country and the people, go to the west, go to the grassroots, go to the place where the motherland and the people need us most, bend down, take root in the front line, walk with the motherland and dedicate ourselves to the people; fourth, we should strive to become top innovative talents and leaders in all walks of life, and make outstanding contributions to high-quality development in keeping righteous innovation and forging ahead. Liu Jie expressed his hope that the students would polish their youth in realizing the value and sublimating the realm, and welcome the opening of the 20th CPC National Congress with excellent achievements.
