 First experience in the workplace, and a career new start

In order to promote school-enterprise cooperative education, implement the combination of concept and practice to cultivate talents, help students apply what they have learned, and export new talents to enterprises and introduce excellent talents to Wuhu City, “Wuhu College Students Practice and Training Base” built and operated by Kunpeng Talent Company was established under the concern of the Organization Department of Wuhu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Talent Office and the guidance of the People's Government of Jiujiang District of Wuhu City. On June 13, the first batch of college students arrived at the base to start their internship. The arrival of the first batch of students opened the cooperation between China University of Geosciences and Wuhu Municipal Government. The base actively recruited talents and attracted wisdom for Wuhu City, taking a big step in the introduction of urban talents.

Under the leadership of Secretary Qu Xianghua and Deputy Dean Li Bo of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), the first batch of junior students from the Department of Industrial Design of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information arrived at Wuhu for practical training. According to the training allocation and arrangement, the students will enter EFFORT Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. and Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. respectively for more than three months of on-the-job practice training.

Putting knowledge into action through practical training

With dedicated internship in enterprises, free accommodation and worry-free living support, the first batch of students successfully completed their stay under the arrangement of the staff of the enterprise and the base office. After a three-day onboarding physical examination and cooperation with the epidemic prevention policy of Wuhu City, the interns will be assigned to R&D positions at Chery Automobile including assistant designers in the modeling center and assistant product development engineer; and the R&D positions in EFFORT such as mechanical structure design, software development and electrical design in the robot body R&D process, respectively. We wish that the students, under the guidance of the business mentors, can apply what they have learned, and become practical and versatile talents who have knowledge, can use knowledge, and can create knowledge in the future workplace.

Then, led by the staff of the base, leaders of Jiujiang District and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of CUG visited the training base to understand the project progress.

 More and deeper cooperation

On the morning of the 14th, Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Bu Jie, Director of the Base Office, and Bi Quanguo, President of Chery University, had a discussion on the future student training work. At the meeting, Secretary Qu and his party expressed more and more meaningful needs and prospects for student practice and training in the future. President Bi introduced the current development, the demand for talents, and the development status of internship and training of Chery to the Party Secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and his party. At the meeting, both sides hoped to find more possibilities for cooperation in the future.

After the meeting, the leaders went to the dormitory to inspect the students' occupancy and sent care to them.

It is reported that the base will welcome the second batch of students from China University of Geosciences majoring in mechanical engineering, communication engineering and electronic information in early July. At present, the base has completed the decoration of the model house, which is expected to be completed and accepted in August, so as to provide a high-quality living environment for more students in the training base.

The person in charge of the base said that in the future, more enterprises are welcome to establish links with the base and reach cooperation in talent introduction.
