Successful Holding of the Party Lecture Competition for Party Branch Secretaries, One of the Series Activities of Student Party Building Quality Improvement Program of the School

On the afternoon of May 19, the party lecture competition for party branch secretaries, one of the series activities of student party building quality improvement program of the School was held in Room 301 of No. 2 Teaching Building. Yu Xiaozhou, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Secretary of the Faculty and Staff Party Branch, counselors of the Student Affairs Leading Group and representatives of student party members watched the competition on site.

In the course of the competition, secretaries of the student party branches taught special party lectures on "Welcoming the 20th CPC National Congress, the function and role of party branches, the duties and missions of student party members, party history study and education, strengthening cultural confidence, the development history of China's civil code, and the mission and responsibility of youth in the new era". Among them, some party branch secretaries integrated the surrounding examples into the telling process of the party lecture, effectively enhanced the attraction and appeal of the party lecture through their own experiences, and thus won bursts of applause from the audience.

After listening carefully to the party lectures given by the secretaries of the student party branches, Yu Xiaozhou summarized and commented. She fully affirmed the elaborate preparation, active participation and wonderful display of the party branch secretaries, and hoped that the party branch secretaries would strengthen the exchange and mutual appreciation, and learn from each other, so as to improve the level of party lectures.

Yu Xiaozhou pointed out that the party lecture is the important content of "Three Meetings and One Class" and is an important system of the Party's regular activities, the secretaries of the student party branches should make good use of this traditional and effective educational carrier, innovate the form and content, and effectively play the "big role" of the party class. We should highlight the flavor of the party spirit, ensure that the party class always carries forward the "main melody", transmit the "positive energy", and realize the casting of the soul with the class; we should highlight the characteristics of the times, ensure that the party class conforms to the social trend, keep up with the pace of development, and realize learning supplemented by curriculum; we should highlight the actual needs, ensure the combination of Party class with business work and the growth needs of students, and realize the progress by Party class.

Yu Xiaozhou stressed that it was an obligation to give party lectures, and it was a responsibility to give good party lectures. The secretaries of the student party branches should take giving good party lectures as a regular and compulsory course to enhance the ability to perform their duties. First, we should focus on logical expression, the main line of the course should run through the whole process of lectures; second, we should focus on exciting narrative, with a more interesting voice to enhance the attractiveness of party classes; third, we should focus on the course design, using multimedia and other technical means to really let the party classes "live". The Party Committee of the School will incorporate the "Party Branch Secretary’s Party Lecture Competition" into the regular activities of the student party building quality improvement project, and we hope that the secretaries of the student party branches will always be new and improve in the contest.

Finally, 14 student party secretaries were awarded the Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize.
