——2022 Annual Teaching Competition for Young Teachers of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information

In order to further improve the ideological quality and teaching ability of young teachers, stimulate their enthusiasm and creativity in teaching, refine their basic teaching skills, and create a high-quality teaching team with high awareness of teaching ideology and strong teaching business ability, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information held a teaching competition for young teachers on April 14, 2022 in B0203 of East Teaching Building. The young teachers of the School participated in this teaching competition. 7 teachers, including the leaders, supervisors and outstanding teacher representatives of the School, served as the judges of the competition, and Qu Xianghua, secretary of the party committee, and Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the party committee, participated in and guided the teaching competition for young teachers in the whole process.

Li Bo, Deputy Dean in charge of teaching of the School, pointed out that the School has always adhered to the educational concept of “people-oriented and "three-integration". He hoped that with the platform of teaching competition, all outstanding young teachers could fully demonstrate themselves and share their excellent teaching concepts and methods, so as truly give equal importance to teaching and scientific research, promote interdisciplinary integration, strive to be "four-haves teachers" with attitude, temperature and height, and continuously improve the undergraduate education and teaching level of the School.

 

During the competition, each young teacher closely followed the syllabus, focused on the teaching objectives, and flexibly used multimedia means to present the complete course sections taught, which not only taught professional knowledge, but also increased the learning interest, fully demonstrating the teaching style of the young teachers in the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information.

 

After the presentation of the participating teachers, Professor Ye Dunfan, the school-level teaching supervisor, made on-site comments and put forward pertinent suggestions. She pointed out that the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information has always attached great importance to the training of young teachers and has always put teaching in the first place. She affirmed that the participating teachers were well prepared and proficient in the content of the competition, especially some of them also added communication with students. However, considering the difference between competition design and normal teaching, she suggested that teachers should preferably select course presentation contents according to the characteristics of the competition, reflecting not only the relative independence of the selected contents but also a certain high-order, should make more efforts in the arrangement of teaching design, PPT design and reflective summary, and should fully apply information technology means to effectively grasp students' learning status and solve their learning difficulties in time.

 

According to the final evaluation of the judges, seven teachers won prizes in the 2022 Teaching Competition for Young Teachers. First prize: Chen Zhen and Zeng Ming; Second prize: Cheng Zhuo, Zhong Liang and Cao Wenao; Third prize: Wu Chuan and Gan Jinqiang.
