On April 8, 2022, Dr. Xu Kaijun from China University of Petroleum (East China) was invited to give an academic report on "Borehole Gravity and Magnetic Data Measurement and Modeling and Inversion Research”. A total of about 55 persons, including leaders, teachers and graduate students attended the presentation which was hosted by Prof. Zhang Jing.
Dr. Kaijun Xu is an associate professor in the School of Geosciences of China University of Petroleum (East China) and a visiting scholar at Colorado School of Mines in 2018, whose main research interests are gravity and magnetic exploration and modeling and inversion, electromagnetic method exploration and modeling and inversion, integrated geophysical interpretation and joint inversion. Dr. Xu Kaijun has published more than 30 papers in mainstream journals of geophysics at home and abroad, and has undertaken and participated in many national major research projects, and his research results have won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Qingdao, and he has served as the reviewer for some SCI journals at home and abroad.
This presentation introduced the progress of borehole gravity and magnetic data measurement and modeling and inversion research. Dr. Xu Kaijun reviewed the development of borehole gravity and magnetic measurements, focusing on data detection, data modeling and inversion of gravity and magnetic data. In addition, Dr. Xu illustrated the high resolution of borehole gravity and magnetic measurements and the prospects in deep mineral resource exploration through some field exploration projects. After the presentation, Dr. Xu communicated with the participating teachers and students and gave targeted answers to the questions raised.
Through this presentation, teachers and students have a deeper understanding of the development of borehole gravity and magnetic data measurement and modeling and inversion in China, and have expanded their horizons.
