School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information Holds a Meeting on “Doing Practical Things for the Masses” and Taking the Advices on Improving the Quality of Party Building

Recently, School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information held a meeting on “Doing Practical Things for the Masses” and taking the advices on improving the quality of party building in Room 314 of No. 2 Teaching Building, the leaders of the School, including Yu Xiaozhou, Li Bo, Luo Jie and Wen Guojun, were presented at the meeting, and faculty and student party branch secretaries attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the secretaries of party branches spoke successively around the party building work of the School. The faculty party branch focused on development of faculty party members, party branch twinning and piloting, serving student growth, and optimizing professional courses, and put forward opinions and suggestions. The student party branches expressed insights on inter-branch communication and interaction, the integration building of party, league and class, the training on party affairs, the form of theme party day activities, the functions of resident party members, and the management and education of party members. The leaders communicated with each of the party branch secretaries who spoke, and discussed relevant issues in depth.

Li Bo expressed his gratitude for the valuable opinions and suggestions, and the School would continue to improve the relevant work in response to everyone's remarks. He hoped that in the subsequent study and work, we would integrate the elements and contents of ideology and politics into the curriculum education and study life in a more vivid way.

Luo Jie pointed out that students should have a strong body and a strong heart, study hard, explore, and combine their personal development with the needs of the motherland. Scientific research activities should be combined with the "four orientations", especially for the main battlefield of the economy and for the major needs of the country, to put an end to utilitarianism.

Wen Guojun stressed that while enriching the forms, the theme party day activities must also have the seriousness of the content. On the issue of employment, students should establish a correct outlook on career selection, not compare or follow blindly, and choose the right career for themselves.

Yu Xiaozhou made a concluding speech. She said that all Party branches have put forward many valuable opinions and suggestions in combination with the actual situation, and the School would seriously study and absorb them. She pointed out that on the issue of resident class party members, the School had made clear provisions on the duties and assessment of relevant personnel, and would further improve them; on the construction of branch cohesion, party branch secretaries should give full play to their subjective initiative and strengthen inter-branch communication; on the lack of motivation of some party members, the School attached great importance to it and would restrain it by formulating relevant systems.

On behalf of the Party committee of the School, Yu Xiaozhou put forward four requirements for the Party branch secretaries. First, we should improve our political position and combine our own teaching, scientific research and learning with the development of the University and the School. Second, we should improve the work quality of Party branches, strengthen independent learning, and pay attention to excavating, cultivating, selecting, submitting and publicizing models. Third, we should further promote the work style construction and show new achievements with new responsibilities. Fourth, we should make efforts to innovate the management of Party building, highlight the characteristics of the School, and constantly improve the scientific level of Party building in the School.
