On the afternoon of March 15, Zhang Jianhe, Deputy Dean of Undergraduate School, Wu Guoping, undergraduate teaching supervisor of the University, Li Li and Ye Dunfan, undergraduate teaching supervisors of the School, and Zhang Fan, Director of Practice Teaching Management Office, visited our school to conduct research on the graduation thesis (design). Qu Xianghua, secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Li Bo, Deputy Dean of the School, and the person in charge of graduation theses of each major attended the symposium.
At the meeting, the person in charge of graduation thesis of four majors, namely, electronic information, mechanical design and its automation, industrial design and communication engineering, introduced the basic work situation, focusing on the difficulties in the work. After listening to the specific situation of the work carried out by each major, Zhang Jianhe responded to the relevant issues. He pointed out that we should give full play to the advantage of "three education", mobilize the staff to actively participate in the thesis (design) work, guide students and instructors to actively communicate and work together to make the thesis work well and practical.
Qu Xianghua introduced the new ideas and concepts of education and teaching reform of the School. He pointed out that the School insisted on exploring the "three integration" talent training mode, utilized social resources to reform the practice training and create a new engineering practice training base. Through the combination of "Government -Industry-University-Research", the School connected the topic of undergraduate graduation thesis with the actual production of enterprises, so that the students could truly meet the standard requirements of new engineering and the quality of undergraduate graduation thesis (design) could be improved continuously. He hoped that the Undergraduate School could provide policy, teaching space and financial support.
Li Bo introduced the process, system and quality assurance initiatives of the thesis (design) work of the School. He pointed out that the School strictly followed the requirements of relevant documents of the University on graduation thesis (design), and had carried out layer-by-layer checks from the thesis topic collection, opening, mid-term inspection, graduation defense, random inspection and review. Undergraduate teaching supervisors strictly supervised and guided in the whole process, and played an important role in regulating requirements, quality control and improvement implementation.
The undergraduate teaching supervisors talked about the work of graduation thesis (design). Wu Guoping said that he hoped to find good teaching methods and examples in the process of supervision and inspection, and through publicity and demonstration, he hoped to supervise the teaching of the School. Ye Dunfan fully affirmed the teaching work of all majors, and emphasized the cultivation of all staff's normative consciousness and habits and the need to record and summarize in time to ensure that traces were left. Li Li believed that there were many influencing factors involved in undergraduate teaching and thesis (design), especially the need to strengthen the construction of laboratory supporting facilities and the construction of new engineering practice training base.
Zhang Fan introduced the duplication check of undergraduate thesis (design) and the selection of excellent undergraduate thesis (design) at university level of 2021, and pointed out the common problems in previous years in terms of thesis format specification and instructor's rating. He hoped to make joint efforts with the School and continue to maintain a rigorous, standardized and solid working attitude to do a good job in this year's graduation thesis (design).
