Jiujiang District Government Once Again Refreshed “Wuhu Speed” in Attracting Talents!

On the afternoon of January 12, 2022, representatives of the People's Government of Jiujiang District, Wuhu City and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences signed a strategic cooperation agreement at No. 2 Teaching Building of China University of Geosciences. The two sides will jointly carry out in-depth cooperation in personnel training, scientific and technological research and development, achievement transformation, etc. for the major national strategies and the needs of regional economic and social development, which means that Wuhu and CUG will jointly open a new chapter in university-enterprise cooperation, integration of production and education, and collaborative innovation cooperation in scientific research.

     In 2021, Wuhu City took "double attraction" as the "No.1 Project" for economic development and took talent attraction as an important means to promote industrial development. In the past year, the departments and leaders at all levels of the city have been vigorously integrating and optimizing various talent projects, not only implementing the "Ziyunying Talent Program", but also setting up the first talent development group of the province and making a series of talent "attraction, cultivation, retention and use" combinations. As a key district in Wuhu, Jiujiang District has a rapidly developing robotics and intelligent equipment industry base, with a number of provincial-level new research and development institutions, provincial international science and technology cooperation bases, and its robotics and intelligent equipment technology business incubator has been identified as a national science and technology business incubator by the Ministry of Science and Technology. In the future, Jiujiang will make every effort to build the cluster development of robot and intelligent equipment industry, and devote itself to developing into a leading area of strategic emerging industries. As a key second-level school of China University of Geosciences, the talents and high-end intelligence and scientific research resources cultivated by four major departments of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, including mechanical engineering, electronic information engineering, industrial design and communication engineering, are highly compatible with the industrial development of Jiujiang.

      Under the instruction of Fang Zhong, Secretary of Jiujiang District Party Committee, Liu Xuedong, Director of the Organization Department of Jiujiang District Committee, Xiao Zongming, Director of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Pei Jieming, Director of the Investment Promotion Center, Ma Bingbing, Vice President of the Party School, Wang Xiaoguo, Deputy General Manager of Construction Investment Corporation, and Ma Cheng, section member of the Investment Promotion Center, went to China University of Geosciences to sign the strategic cooperation agreement, realizing "quick signing" in recruiting talents and attracting wisdom, school-enterprise cooperation, industry-teaching integration, scientific research collaboration and other project cooperation, reproducing "Jiujiang speed" and refreshing "Wuhu speed".

     It is reported that the signing of this cooperation agreement was held the day after Qu Xianghua, secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences, returned to China University of Geosciences with a team to investigate Jiujiang District on January 11, 2022. During the previous research activities, enterprises such as EFORT, Longshen Robotics, Chery and BiTECH expressed their urgent demand for talents and their desire for scientific research innovation. The leadership team of Jiujiang District Government played the "Wuhu speed", innovatively used the 1% working method, and focused on solving the "urgent, difficult and worrying" problem of talents reflected by enterprises, and went to Wuhan the next day after the research activity to sign an agreement with China University of Geosciences, which took no more than 24 hours and was completed in one day! The efficient work efficiency is assurance for local enterprises that are in urgent need of outstanding talents from China University of Geosciences.

     Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party Committee, Ding Huafeng, Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, other leadership members and department heads attended the signing ceremony. Under the principle of "mutual support, complementary advantages, collaborative innovation, and common development", Jiujiang District and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences will closely combine the scientific and educational resources of the four majors of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences with the advantageous industries in Jiujiang District, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of research on major issues such as economic society and scientific and technological development, training and transportation of professional and skilled talents, development of related industries, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, establish a new “Government-Industry-University-Research" cooperation mode between the university and local government that reflects the characteristics of the times and meets the requirements of the times, so as to enhance the ability and level of colleges and universities to support regional economic and social development, and help the transformation and upgrading of strategic emerging industries such as  robotics and intelligent equipment and traditional pillar industries such as auto parts in Jiujiang District.

The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information will also take advantage of its own scientific research and talents, and strengthen the service for the development of science and technology industry in Jiujiang District in the fields of personnel training and scientific research cooperation.
