A Special Democratic Life Meeting of the Leadership Team on Party History Study and Education

According to the relevant requirements of the “Implementation Plan for Holding a Special Democratic Life Meeting on Party History Study and Education for Party Members and Leading Cadres (DDDF [2021] No. 90) issued by the Party committee of CUG, School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic held a special democratic life meeting for all leadership members on the morning of January 12, 2022. The meeting closely followed the theme of "seriously studying and implementing Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, vigorously carrying forward the great spirit of party building, adhere to and develop the party's century-old historical experience of struggle, strengthening historical self-confidence, practicing the mission of the times, cultivating the sentiment for the people, focusing on the strategic goals set by the 14th Five-Year Plan and the construction plan of the research university, uniting and leading the teachers, students and the masses to shoulder the historical mission of building an internationally renowned research university in the field of earth sciences”, was closely related to the work of the Party Committee team of the School, personal thoughts and work practice of team members, to carry out in-depth problem-checking and self-examination, party analysis, criticism and self-criticism, reasons analysis, and to put forward the improvement measures and clarify the direction of future efforts. Vice President Liu Jie, members of the Party Committee and leadership of the School attended the meeting. Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, presided over the meeting.

 In order to hold this meeting successfully, the party committee attached great importance to it, organized self-study and special theoretical study, listen to the opinions and suggestions of the faculty and staff. Members of the Party Committee have improved their political position, closely focused on the theme of the democratic life meeting, thoroughly searched for and analyzed problems, carried out opinions collection and heart-to-heart talks, and carefully wrote personal contrast inspection materials, thus making full ideological preparations for the democratic life meeting.

Comrade Qu Xianghua first carried out a control examination on behalf of the leadership team and took the lead in carrying out self-criticism, after which the team members criticized and helped; then other members carried out a control examination in turn and carried out self-criticism, and after each comrade finished speaking on the control examination, the other members concentrated on criticizing and helping them. Each comrade took a stand in time after listening to the criticism, giving feedback on their own ideas and expressing their determination to improve.

After listening to the criticism and self-criticism of the School leadership team and individuals, Comrade Liu Jie made a comment on the democratic life meeting. He believed that this democratic life meeting focused on the theme, and was serious, standardized in steps and well prepared. Carrying out criticism and self-criticism could dig deep into the root causes, find out the gaps and clarify the direction of efforts, think deeply and plan the future development of the School, and the meeting achieved the expected goal. In the future, we should study and implement Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, and the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, establish a correct view of party history, strengthen our faith and confidence, enhance the "four consciousnesses", firm "four self-confidence" and achieve "two maintenance", and systematically think about the important decision-making arrangements of the party committee of CUG; we should establish the people-centered thinking, do practical things for teachers and students, seek ways and make efforts in the personal development of teachers and students, and enhance their sense of achievements, happiness and progress; the leading cadres should take the lead in strengthening the concept of comprehensive and strict governance of the party, unite the people, establish a positive atmosphere, and maintain excellent work ethic; we should also strengthen the ideological and political work of the Party building of the School, and improve the awareness of risk prevention.
