School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information: Government-Industry-University-Research Linkage for High-Quality Development of Teaching and Scientific Research

CUG News (Reported by Liu Hao) Recently, there is good news from Suzhou Guangshuo Technology Industrial Park that the "Aromatic Block Assembly and Packaging Intelligent Production Line", which was developed by professor Li Bo’s team of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences on commission by Suzhou ZhanQiao Electric Appliances Co., Ltd., has completed functional testing and was delivered for trial production.

Under the coordination of Tang Zhuoxian, Chairman of the People's Congress of Dongshan Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou, Hu Xiang, Deputy Mayor of Dongshan Town and Liu Hao, Deputy Mayor of Dongshan Town (temporary mayor), the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information actively planned and facilitated many mutual visits and exchanges between all parties. In July 2021, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Dongshan Town, and Wang Xuefeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Town, and Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, jointly inaugurated the "Dongshan Town Industry Promotion and Development Center of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information of China University of Geosciences", officially opening the curtain of the linkage between government, industry, university and research.

 

In the past six months, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information has arranged the excellent engineer class undergraduate students of "Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation" to enter the enterprises in summer to carry out a one-month research internship according to the characteristics of enterprises in Dongshan Town, the products production status and the guarantee conditions for study and work. At the same time, the teachers of the School went deep into the production line of enterprises and provided 4 automatic production line designs for many enterprises according to the pain points in the production process of enterprises, and the "Aromatic Block Assembly and Packaging Intelligent Production Line" is the first result of government-industry-university-research collaborative innovation.

 

The "Aromatic Block Assembly and Packaging Intelligent Line" has been running for less than three months from the signing of the cooperation agreement to the delivery of trial production, realizing the automation of the whole production line and the whole process from the injection molding of the aromatic block, the removal of the rubber channel, the online measurement of the weight of the aromatic block and the vent, the automatic continuous transportation of the holder, the assembly of the qualified products of the aromatic block and the holder, and the sealed packaging of the finished products after the assembly. Every 10 seconds, one product is rolled off the production line, and the annual output of a single production line reaches 2.1 million. The product quality meets the high standard requirements of foreign customers, while meeting the unmanned demand for mass production under special working conditions. It greatly improves the production efficiency and solves the difficulties of recruitment and high labor cost of enterprises.

 

In the process of Party history learning and education, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information has focused on the fundamental task of "educating people for the Party and educating talents for the country", made the deepening of the integration of government, industry, university and research, and the organic connection of education chain, talent chain and industry chain and innovation chain as the strategy and path of high-quality development of the School. During the critical period of national adjustment of industrial structure and construction of new development pattern, the School has made a decision to move, followed the trend, focused on the concerns of all parties, linked the resources of all parties, realized the integration of education and teaching contents with the production reality, and the integration of teaching resources within and outside the university, and also provided intellectual and talent support for the transformation and upgrading of local traditional manufacturing industry to "smart manufacturing" and quality and efficiency improvement, and realized the mutual benefit, win-win and common development.
