The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information Holds the Opening Ceremony of "Xiang Yang" Youth League School in the Academic Year 2021-2022 and a Series of Lectures on "My University, My Growth Season"

In order to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's Socialist Thought with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th Party Congress, and to cultivate a group of young Marxists and advanced student cadres with firm ideals and beliefs, the Youth League Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information held the opening ceremony of "Xiang Yang" Youth League School in the academic year 2021-2022 and a series of lectures on "My University, My Growth Season" in Room 301 of No. 2 Teaching Building at 15:30pm on November 25. Qu Xianghua, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Guo Xiaoyu, the Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the school, Yu Xiaozhou, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Du Yuyu, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the school, the teachers of the Student Affairs Leading Group, the student leaders of the Youth League organizations and the freshmen class participated in this activity. The activity was hosted by Ding Yufeng, a teacher from the Student Affairs Leading Group.

In the loud and clear League song, all the students of the league school started a new year of learning and practice together.

Du Yu introduced the "Implementation Plan of Xiang Yang Youth League School of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information". He gave a detailed introduction of "Xiang Yang" Youth League School from four aspects: main objectives, basic principles, class setting and work guarantee. He said that the "Xiang Yang" Youth League School is mainly divided into five classes: Xiangyang Dream Class, focusing on training new students to lay a solid foundation for the development of student work in the school; Xiangyang Dream-chasing Class, mainly for class monitors and league secretaries, to provide a solid guarantee for the construction of grass-roots class organizations; Xiangyang Dream-fulfilling Class, focusing on the training of the backbone of the league organization, to train the reserve forces for the main student organizations of the school; Xiangyang Climbing Class, that is, Youth Marxist Program training class, focusing on training young political backbone; Xiangyang Development Class, focusing on the training of league activists.

In the witness of all the students, Guo Xiaoyu awarded the flag to the new Youth League School, and Shi Zhantian, the deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of the school, took the flag, symbolizing the handing over of the baton to the new students.

Yu Xiaozhou made a concluding speech. First of all, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Youth League Committee of the School, she extended warm congratulations to all the students who participated in the study of the Youth League School. She said that entering the Youth League School was an opportunity for all-round development, which was the teacher's trust in the students and the students' self-test. Nowadays, young students are in the best era, and they are born at the right time and have a heavy responsibility. She put forward three hopes to the students: cherish the opportunity to study, correct the motivation to study, be strict with yourself and be an example in study; cherish the honor of the cadets, play a pioneering and leading role, abide by the rules and regulations and training requirements; strengthen communication and exchange, deepen theoretical learning, enrich practical activities, improve the overall quality, and really learn and achieve something.

After the opening ceremony, Qu Xianghua taught the first lesson of the league school to all students with the title of "How to do a good job as student cadres in college life". He said that to do a good job as student cadres, the following six qualities were necessary: theoretical quality, political quality, moral quality, scientific and cultural quality, psychological quality, ability quality. Among them, the ability quality includes five areas of ability: organizational and management ability, presentation ability, investigation ability, creativity ability and coordination ability. In combination with his own experience in student work, Qu Xianghua vividly shared with the students the way to cultivate six qualities and exercise five abilities.

He pointed out that ability and quality need to be constantly acquired and improved in study and work. To this end, students need to achieve four "more": more observation, more thinking, more discussion and more heart to heart talk. In addition, student cadres also needed to do the following four points: understand the role and position of student cadres in the university and play an exemplary role; understand that student leaders are also a responsibility and serve their classmates with practical actions; in daily life, we should be sincere and kind to others; in study and work, we should set an example and be flexible.

Qu Xianghua put forward several requirements for the students: to be decent, fair and clear about right and wrong; be willing to help others, be proactive and study hard; to have good psychological quality and organization and coordination ability; We should constantly pursue new goals and forge ahead; to have a pragmatic style and not aim too high; to have a plan and be good at reflecting in life; to have special skills and improve working ability in work.

Finally, Qu Xianghua shared 30 proverbs with the students based on his rich student work experience. He encouraged young students and key Youth League students to actively play their role, take over the baton of Youth League work, maintain a good style, keep high morale, and actively sing the song of youth in the new era.

In the last academic year, the "Xiang Yang" Youth League School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information started in exploration, and led more than 100 Youth League members to learn knowledge, increase talents, harvest friendship and cultivate faith through special reports, theoretical learning, business training, discussion and exchange, practical exercise, etc., and achieved good results. In this academic year, the school will continue to uphold the good working style, improve the working mechanism, strictly control the training quality, strengthen the resources deployment, deepen the summary in time, and continue to escort the growth of youth and backbone training.
