Prof. Yao Jing and Prof. Ai Chao from School of Mechanical Engineering, Yanshan University Made Reports in Our School

In order to comprehensively strengthen the Party's leadership, implement the Party's education policy, face the national strategy and the major needs of economic and social development, give full play to the comprehensive advantages of the disciplines, further deepen the understanding and knowledge of the top innovative talents, and promote the reform of the talent cultivation mode of the School, Ding Huafeng, Dean of the School, invited Professor Yao Jing from Yanshan University to make a special report on the morning of Nov. 23, 2021. In addition, in view of the fact that there are many young teachers in our school and they have great potential to apply for national funds, Ding Huafeng, Dean of the School, also invited professor Ai Chao to introduce his experience in applying for national funds. This report meeting, hosted by Comrade Luo Jie, Deputy Dean of the School, aimed to explore the construction of a perfect talent cultivation system and strive to cultivate top-notch innovative talents with excellent moral character, physical and mental health, a high sense of social responsibility, solid foundation, strong sense of innovation, international vision and development potential; to improve our young teachers' understanding of the fund policy and increase the hit rate of the fund.

The topic of Prof. Yao Jing's lecture was "Exploring the "Three-Three-Two-One" Innovative Talent Cultivation System in Mechanical Engineering". Prof. Yao Jing, current Deputy Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering of Yanshan University, has been selected as one of the 100 million talents program of China and awarded the honorary title of "Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contribution". She has presided over one national-level educational reform project and three provincial-level educational reform projects, and won the first prize of provincial teaching achievement, the provincial excellent educator, the city's "March 8th" red flag bearer and other honorary titles, and is mainly devoted to the research of key technologies, intelligent flow control technology, and lightweight of hydraulic components for high-power hydraulic servo system of heavy equipment.

In combination with the requirements of education in the new era, closely focusing on the fundamental question of "who to train, how to train and for whom to train", and adhering to the school-running philosophy of "training high-level talents in mechanical engineering who are both red and specialized", Prof. Yaojing put forward the 3-3-3-1 integrated training system for innovative top-notch talents in mechanical colleges and universities, with the university, society and network as the three main bodies, the three platforms of domestic and foreign cooperation on-campus practice platform, off-campus practice platform of domestic and foreign enterprises and innovation practice platform as the support, the ideological culture as the leader and engineering ability as the driver, and the six aspects of ideological education, cultural education, curriculum system, practice system, teaching materials system, teaching mode and quality control system as the main content. The system gives full play to the comprehensive advantages of disciplines, highlights the characteristics of teacher education, innovates the reform talent cultivation model, and focuses on cultivating future-oriented top-notch innovative talents with good humanistic and scientific literacy, broad professional foundation, broad international vision and a strong sense of social responsibility, which provides a reference for our school.

The topic of Prof. Ai Chao's lecture was "Thoughts on NSF Application". Prof. Ai Chao, currently the director of the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Control Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, Yanshan University, and the deputy director of the Intelligent Flow Control Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, has presided over three programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has presided over and participated in a total of more than 10 national projects, with research interests in fluid transmission and control. Prof. Ai Chao introduced the reform status of NSFC and pointed out the importance of interpreting the policy, followed by a detailed introduction of the research direction, the review and funding situation and the key points of application writing of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a detailed analysis of the application direction of mechanical disciplines, which gave the teachers and students a more in-depth understanding of the NSFC, especially the application overview of mechanical disciplines.

At the end, Mr. Han Guangchao raised questions on the part of student arrangement in the talent training system of Yanshan University and discussed with Prof. Yao Jing. Deputy dean Luo Jie also gave a brief review and summary of the lecture and expressed his gratitude to Prof. Yao Jing and Prof. Ai Chao for attending this academic lecture amidst their busy schedules. The comprehensive and extensive exchange seminar and the in-depth and thorough collision of ideas not only broadened the minds of the teachers and students present, but also provided a learning template for our school to further promote the construction of the model of cultivating top-notch innovative talents. Prof. Ai's report is also the first time to lead everyone to think from the perspective of mechanical discipline and further deepen the understanding of fund application. Next, our school will deeply strengthen the exploration of effective ways to cultivate top innovative talents, establish a long-term mechanism conducive to the emergence of top innovative talents, and assume the educational mission of colleges and universities; at the same time, we will mobilize and promote the application of funds through various ways, and take effective measures to improve the hit rate in our school.
