On July 6, at the invitation of this School, Professor Sun Qizhen from Huazhong University of Science and Technology delivered a special academic report on “Optical Fiber Distributed Acoustic Sensing Technology and Intelligent Application” in Conference Room 301, No. 2 Teaching Building. Huang Tianye, deputy dean of the School presided over the seminar, and many teachers and more than 60 graduate students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electronic Information and Department of Communications attended the seminar.
Sun Qizhen, professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Optical and Electronic Information, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, candidate of national youth talent program (2019), “Marie Curie” scholar of European Union (2013), member of Expert Working Committee on Optical Fiber Sensing Technology of Chinese Society for Optical Engineering, member of Oil and Gas Resources Expert Committee of China Optical Fiber Sensing Technology and Industry Innovation Alliance, OSA/IEEE Senior Member, and editorial board member of SCI journal Photonics Sensors, Sensors, and Nanomaterials, is mainly engaged in micro structure fiber devices, sensing technology and application research.
The report mainly introduced the basic concept of acoustic wave, as well as the technical status and application bottleneck of acoustic wave detection, and analyzed the advantages of optical fiber acoustic sensor; introduced the mechanism and key technology of optical fiber distributed acoustic sensor (DAS), and the research achievements of Sun Qizhen research group in long distance, high sensitivity, broadband and high fidelity optical fiber DAS; discussed the basic principle of acoustic CT and its intelligent application in seismic wave recording, geological analysis, oil exploration and smart city.
After the report, Professor Sun Qizhen had an in-depth academic discussion with the teachers and students.
