On May 21, 2021, Electromechanical Sub-forum of Sixth International Forum for Young Scholars was held in Room 301, No. 2 Teaching Building. Both teachers and graduate students attended the forum. The forum was presided over by Deputy Dean Huang Tianye, and Li Xiang, a senior researcher at Cambridge University in England, and Huang Fobao, an associate professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University, were invited to give academic reports respectively.
Dr. Li Xiang's report titled Low Complexity Coherent Optical Access Network: Status and Opportunities summarized the current research progress of coherent optical access technology, pointed out some problems of coherent optical technology in optical access network in consideration of low cost and low power consumption, and looked forward to the development of coherent optical access network technology in the future.
Dr. Huang Fobao's report titled Structural Design and Performance Improvement of Organic Photodetectors introduced the development status and technical problems of organic photodetectors, and introduced the organic photodetectors with high performance and wide spectral response organic photodetectors developed by the research group through device structural design and interface engineering.
After the meeting, the teachers and the students attending the meeting had an in-depth exchange and discussion on the contents of the report.
