Professor Che Wenquan from South China University of Technology Delivered an Academic Report in Our School

In order to enliven the academic atmosphere, promote the first-class undergraduate construction of electronic information engineering based on “Double-ten-thousand Program”, and improve the academic level of our teachers and students, Professor Che Wenquan from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering of South China University of Technology was invited to give a Tencent online report entitled "Research on multifunctional super surface antenna technology". Associate Professor Hou Qiang, deputy director of the Department of Communication Engineering, presided over the meeting, and the teachers, graduate students and undergraduates of related majors attended the report meeting.

Che Wenquan, second-grade professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering of South China University of Technology, graduated from City University of Hong Kong with a doctor's degree in December 2003. He has served as the deputy director of the key laboratory of “Millimeter Wave and Terahertz” in Guangdong Province, the editor of Microwave and Optical Technology Letter (MOTL) under Wiley, and other international academic positions. The main research interests of Professor Che Wenqua are microwave/millimeter wave circuits and systems, antenna theory and technology, etc. As the principal investigator, he is undertaking such high-level projects as key program supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and the projects supported by National Key R&D Program of China. He has won many scientific research and teaching achievement awards at state/province and ministry level and has published more than 300 international academic papers.

The report mainly introduced the international research frontiers of antenna miniaturization technology, high efficiency technology, beam diversity and filter integration technology based on super surface in recent years, as well as relevant progress, especially Professor Che’s own team work and innovative research achievements.

After the report, teachers and students raised some professional questions, especially the scientific world outlook of Chinese young female scientists. Professor Che gave perfect answers. Both teachers and students gained a lot in academic research and scientific world outlook.
