[News] Vice President Liu Jie Guide the Work for Graduate Union of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information

Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee, deputy dean Wen Guojun, Du Yu, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and all members of the 2020 Graduate Union attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ye Lingqiao, a presidium member of the graduate union.

Xiao Fan, executive chairman of the graduate union, made a report on the work in the academic year 2019-2020. He introduced the working ideas, measures and results of the graduate union in the past year from five aspects, including ideological guidance, academic piloting, growth service, safety and civilization, and the construction of graduate union. He also put forward some suggestions and ideas for the next year.

Du Yu introduced the reform of league organization and the general election of graduate union, and highlighted the reform objectives and tasks of the CYL student organizations reform in electromechanical college, including the reform of League and school organization, the class and League organization contact mechanism and the cultivation of student backbone in the “Implementation Plan of the Reform of the CYL Student Organizations in the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information” and briefly explained the recent situation of the general selection and recruitment of the graduate union.

Liu Bin, an old member of the graduate union in charge of the office, delivered a speech. Based on his own experience in the previous academic year, he put forward suggestions to the new students from study, scientific research, life and work, and hoped that the members of the graduate union could make joint efforts to serve the students and make the graduate union better and better.

An Jinyu, a new member from learning service department of the Graduate Union, delivered a speech. She called on the new members to improve their ideological quality, strengthen learning, familiarize with their responsibilities as soon as possible, integrate into the graduate group, and make solid progress in all work.

Liao Senhui, a presidium member of the Graduate Union, made mobilization for the new academic year. He said that the work of the graduate union in the new academic year would be carried out from the following five aspects: first, focusing on ideological guidance and serving the students’ ideological progress; second, strengthening academic guidance and focusing on students' academic needs; third, carrying forward the spirit of scientific innovation and stimulating students' scientific innovation vitality; fourth, providing assistance to their grow and development and serving their all-round development; fifth, strengthening organizational construction and improving various rules and regulations.

Liu Jie delivered a speech. He first affirmed the achievements made by the graduate union in the past year, and expressed his gratitude to all the students for their selfless dedication and service too others. Liu Jie put forward suggestions and requirements from three aspects.

First, it is necessary to define the responsibilities of the graduate union. With strengthening the political guidance of the students as the foundation, the graduate union should timely convey the voice and opinion of the party to the students, and timely feedback and solve the students' demands and practical difficulties.

Second, we should play the “five roles” to serve the growth and development of the students. As the information provider, give full play to the role of bridge linking; as the policy speaker, strengthen the propaganda of political theory; as the good communication counselor, pay attention to the students' psychological and emotional changes; as a good model demonstrator, set an example and transmit positive energy; as the difficulty solver, protect the students’ growth and development rights and interests.

Third, we should always put ideological and political guidance in the first place. The graduate union should be armed with political theory, pay attention to the actual effect of activity education, culture education, new media education and service education, and always keep the advanced nature and purity of the graduate union.

Liu Jie hopes that all the students of the School can focus on the development of new engineering, carry forward the "craftsman spirit", strengthen learning, innovation and practice, improve their comprehensive quality and ability, and strive to become new people of the times who shoulder the important task of national rejuvenation.
