[News] The Reception Day of School Leaders was Held Smoothly

(Reporter: Aimaiti · Aisa, Photographer: Liu Yufeng) In order to listen to and solve the students' difficulties in their study and life, and build a platform for face-to-face communication between students and leaders of the School, the reception day of School leaders was held at Room 308 No. 2 Teaching Building at 14:30 on December 17. Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party committee, Ding Huafeng, Dean, Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee, Li Bo, deputy dean, Du Yu, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Wang Yihong from the school office and student representatives attended the activity.

 

The activity was presided over by Guo Huan from the Rights and Interests Service Department of the Student Union.

 

The student representatives actively feed back the difficulties encountered in their study and life to the leaders of the School, mainly focusing on course learning, professional practice, scientific research innovation, laboratory use, freshmen's adaptation to university life, employment guidance and so on, and put forward relevant opinions and suggestions on the problems. The leaders of the School answered the questions one by one.

 

 

When answering questions, Li Bo stressed that students should put learning in the first place and walk the road well; they should improve their own ability and make full use of the resources around them; they should lay a solid foundation for their majors and enhance their scientific research ability. He shared with the students three ways to obtain learning resources. The first was to participate in various lectures held by the University and School; the second was to actively communicate with the head teacher and academic affairs advisor; the third was to regularly browse the official website of our School to obtain information resources. He hoped that the students could communicate with teachers more actively to discuss study and life problems and give feedback and suggestions.

 

In answering the question, Ding Huafeng said that the School had attached great importance to discipline construction and personnel training, and regularly invited well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad to give lectures to help students cultivate their innovation consciousness and broaden their academic vision. He pointed out that the feedback from the students was highly targeted, and the problems regarding laboratory equipment really reflected our shortcomings in laboratory construction. He said that the School would seriously study and promote as a whole to provide a good experimental environment for the growth and development of students as far as possible. He hoped that the students should further establish the sense of ownership, put forward more valuable opinions, and develop together with our School.

 

Yu Xiaozhou said that, in recent years, the School had been making efforts to improve the effective “Three-wide Education” mechanism, encourage teachers to go deep into students' classrooms, class meetings and dormitories and have heart-to-heart talks with students, so as to help them make plan for their growth and development and to solve practical problems. She hoped that the students could communicate with their head teacher or counselor teacher more, timely feedback their own demands and aspirations, and take the initiative to learn and grow.

 

In conclusion, Qu Xianghua fully affirmed the significance of the reception day and responded to some questions. He said that the School was planning to organize lectures on scientific and technological innovation, and the doctoral students or senior graduate students of the School would answer the questions about scientific and academic research for undergraduates, so as to meet the actual needs of students in professional learning and scientific research activities. The School would try to arrange such meetings as much as possible, fully absorb the studentsopinions, seek corresponding solutions in time, so as to provide better conditions for the growth and development of students. He hoped that the students could make studies in a down-to-earth manner, study diligently, achieve satisfactory results and create their own bright future.
