On the afternoon of July 6, 2020, the mobilization meeting for teaching team construction was successfully held in the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, which was presided over by Deputy Dean Li Bo.
First of all, Deputy Dean Li Bo introduced in detail the purpose of building school-level teaching team. He proposed that improving the teaching quality of undergraduates had become the primary task of higher education, strengthening the construction of teaching staff was an effective guarantee to promote the reform of education and teaching and improve the quality of education and teaching, and the construction of teaching team was an important organizational form to promote the teaching reform and innovation in colleges and universities and improve the quality of education and teaching. Therefore, the construction of teaching team would be necessary and of important practical significance to strengthen the construction of disciplines and courses, to improve the cooperation mechanism of teachers and to improve the teaching quality. At present, the school provides strong supports for undergraduate education, pays close attention to and tracks the construction of teaching team, and will give policy preference in many aspects.
Subsequently, Secretary Qu Xianghua introduced the importance of building a teaching team. He believed that the resources sharing and complementary advantages among members of the teaching team was to reduce the burden rather than increase the burden for teachers. The construction of new engineering specialty met the needs of national development and was welcomed by the society, therefore, it was urgent to establish a teaching team covering all professional courses. At present, we should make clear what we can give students and what they can get. We should focus on the advantages of teaching resources, create a quality teaching system, and lay a good foundation for graduate education. Furthermore, Secretary Qu also pointed out that young teachers needed the guidance from experienced teachers, based on the combination of old, middle-aged and young teachers, School would optimize teaching reform, deepen teaching process reform, strengthen international cooperation and exchange, and integrate ideological and political theory education into classroom teaching, so as to further improve the teaching quality.
Finally, Secretary Qu emphasized that the School should strengthen the combination of professional knowledge, theory and practice, and deepen the undergraduate teaching reform. Through the reform of undergraduate practical teaching, students would know what to learn and how to learn, so that they would deepen their understanding of theoretical knowledge in practice, and the students of new engineering disciplines would adapt to the needs of national economic development faster.
