Leaders and Teachers of Our College Visited Wuhan LANCNC Technology Co., Ltd

At 9:30 a.m. on July 2, Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party committee, and Li Bo, Deputy Dean of the School, visited Wuhan LANCNC Technology Co., Ltd. In the base of the company base, the leaders of our School met with Prof. Bu Jiawu, the founder of the enterprise, for in-depth exchange, and visited the new production line of industrial welding robot for enterprise education. Wuhan LANCNC Technology Co., Ltd, founded by Prof. Bu Jiawu, a retired teacher from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, is now in the leading position in the field of CNC cutting machine in China. In recent years, Wuhan LANCNC Technology Co., Ltd has developed rapidly, at the same time, Prof. Bu is concerned about the development of the School.

Speaking of scientific research, Prof. Bu looked back on his previous experience as a teacher in the School and said that he had been doing research in the laboratory to develop automatic control systems for many years. Therefore, he encouraged the teachers to take root in the laboratory and concentrate on programs. He hoped that the laboratory of the School would be open to students, and both teachers and students would share the equipment and related achievements. He also earnestly hoped that young teachers could devote themselves to the laboratory like the older generation of professors. He further mentioned that in recent years, the Company had increased the research and development efforts in educational industrial robots which provided open interfaces, and hoped to strengthen the cooperation with the School, comprehensively optimize the robot based on the advantages of the School to further achieve high-quality results, and jointly apply for provincial/national awards and share scientific research achievements. He expressed his gratitude for the School for providing the platform, and hoped that Wuhan LANCNC could be the teaching and research platform of the School and to do business together. Prof. Bu promised to provide 2 sets of educational welding robots to the School for teaching, scientific research and practice. In view of this, Prof. Bu Jiawu and the Party leadership of the School hoped to work together to contribute to the science and technology development in the field of mechanical engineering in China.

On behalf of the School, Secretary Qu Xianghua expressed his gratitude for the valuable support given by Wuhan LANCNC Technology in teaching and scientific research. He said that he would effectively promote the cooperation between the School and LANCNC, integrate the scientific research team of the School, and encourage the teachers to participate in the actual projects of LANCNC to carry out scientific research according to the actual needs of enterprises. He pointed out that in the future, he hoped to take LANCNC as a base for entrance education of freshmen and for practice education, which would be of great help to broaden students’ horizons and improve their scientific research ability. When visiting the industrial robot production line, Secretary Qu Xianghua also suggested that Wuhan LANCNC could apply for the industry-education integration from the Ministry of Education to link up and promote vocational training, and could increase the actual function, interesting function and virtual reality function for industrial robot, and put forward that the faculty’s participation in the R&D of LANCNC could achieve win-win results. Deputy Dean Li Bo pointed out that he would effectively promote the reform of teaching practice, combine the students’ practice with the actual needs of enterprises, and integrate the teachers and students of the School to become the R&D force of industrial robots. He further said that the research on robot collaboration and virtual reality by the teachers of the School would help to enhance the brand strength of Wuhan LANCNC.

During the visit, the leaders of the School and the founder of LANCNC discussed and reached a consensus on teaching and scientific research, which promoted the deepening of the friendly cooperation between the two sides, and also pointed out the direction for the further development of the scientific research of the School and enterprise.
