Wang Yakun, An Alumnus of Grade 2009 of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, Donated Epidemic Prevention Materials to Our School

On Apr. 14, 2020, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information received a “warm gift” from Wang Yakun, an alumnus of Grade 2009. On behalf of Chengdu Shanjia Biomedical Co., Ltd., Wang Yakun donated 10 cases of disposable medical protective masks to the School, totaling 5000 masks, to help with the epidemic prevention and control work of his alma mater. In the important stage of epidemic prevention and control of the University, Wang Yakun extended a helping hand and donated epidemic prevention materials to his alma mater, which provided more material guarantee for the efficient development of campus epidemic prevention and the health and safety of teachers and students and passed warmth to all teachers and students with practical actions.



Wang Yakun, a student in Class 072901 of the former “Exploration Machinery” major (now “Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation”) of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), is now a shareholder of Chengdu Shanjia Biomedical Co., Ltd., which was established on July 29, 2011, with the business scope covering the R&D and sales of medical devices, biological products, disinfection products and health care appliances. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Wang Yakun, has been paying close attention to the epidemic prevention and control work in Wuhan and his alma mater. He said that although he graduated many years, he still cared about Wuhan and his alma mater, teachers and classmates, and was willing to contribute his own modest strength in this special period.



Offering mutual support and joint response to difficulties is the greatest guarantee to defeat the epidemic. The act of kindness and strong support of the alumni have made great contributions to the epidemic prevention and control in our University, not only enhancing the backup material guarantee for fighting against the epidemic, but also reflecting the strong social responsibility of our graduates as well as the determination and strength of all the teachers and students of our University to win the battle against the epidemic.
