(hereinafter referred to as HMTC), established in February 2013, is the largest overseas R&D center of Hyundai Motor Group and the only independent comprehensive R&D center covering traditional fuel vehicles and new energy vehicles globally, in addition to the R&D headquarters in Korea. HMTC is located in Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone in Shandong Province and has a branch office in Beijing. At this stage, HMTC takes the mission of developing the three core components of new energy vehicles (battery, motor and electronic controls) and developing vehicles suitable for the Chinese market in order to provide the best products and services to Chinese consumers; in the future, HMTC will work together with its R&D headquarters in Korea to develop vehicles for the international market.
