I. Company Profile

 

SVOLT Energy Technology (formerly the Battery Business Unit of Great Wall Motor) started pre-research work on batteries in 2012, and separated as an independent entity in February 2018. Headquartered in Changzhou, Jiangsu, SVOLT is committed to spearheading innovation in the manufacturing and R&D of the next-generation of battery materials, cells, modules, PACK, BMS and energy storage systems.

The company has a high starting point and rapid development speed. At present, our company has about 8000 employees, including power lithium battery R&D teams with cutting-edge international vision and experienced technical teams in mass production. More than one third of the employees have master and doctoral degrees, and more than 60 top experts are from Europe, America, Japan, South Korea and India.

SVOLT energy R&D centers are distributed all over the world. The R&D Center of SVOLT Energy Technology, based in Baoding, covers an area of about 106 mu, and by far, we have invested over 700 million RMB in the R&D. The pilot production line, testing centers and analysis center are now in operation. The research institute for key materials is capable of the R&D, testing and pilot production of new materials. The research institute for cells and advanced technologies is capable of the R&D, testing and pilot production of the next-generation of cell technologies. The pilot production line has a 45MWh capacity and a total of 6,960 testing channels. The research institute for cell application technologies is capable of the design, simulation, safety test and mass production of battery PACKs. The R&D Center in Shanghai focuses on the research and development of advanced technologies and core algorithms of BMS system and related project development. Korea R&D Center is located in Seoul, focusing on the research and development of advanced material system and battery technology; India R&D Center is located in Bangalore, focusing on software development and software testing of battery management system. At present, the R&D centers in Baoding, Shanghai, South Korea and India have been put into operation, the 118 global lithium battery R&D center in Wuxi has also been completed and put into operation, and the R&D centers in the United States, Europe and Japan are under orderly preparation. So far, we have applied for more than 2,000 technical patents, including more than 800 invention patents and 48 PCT international patents, and won the honor of “2020 Excellent Intellectual Property Enterprise in China’s Automobile Industry”.

The company adheres to the value of “advance through innovation” and is committed to making it easier for human beings to obtain and use sustainable energy. On battery material innovation, SVOLT Energy took the lead in researching and developing the world’s first cobalt-free battery for the next generation in July 2019, and officially released two new cobalt-free batteries (115Ah batteries and 226Ah thin long batteries) in May 2020, creating a brand-new category of power batteries. Our cobalt-free battery products have three core advantages of high energy density, long life and high safety, which can realize the battery life of electric vehicles over 800 kilometers, and provide a new solution for the future development of electric vehicles. At the same time, we have simultaneously carried out research and development optimization of mainstream high-nickel ternary mature batteries, as well as the research and development of cutting-edge technology products such as solid-state batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries and lithium-air batteries.

On process innovation, SVOLT Energy took the lead in innovatively applying the high-speed stacking process to the field of square hard shell batteries all over the world, producing and launching square stacking ternary batteries, creating and leading the power battery industry into the stacking era. High-speed stacking technology is the next generation battery technology that breaks the bottleneck of current mainstream winding batteries. The stacking efficiency target of our mass production plant is 0.125s/pcs for single station. Compared with the same type of winding process battery, the energy density and cycle life of our stacking battery are increased by 5% and 10% respectively, and the cost is reduced by 15%.

On standard innovation, SVOLT Energy took the lead in building the industry’s first AI intelligent power battery factory in Jintan, Jiangsu Province, setting strict standards for power battery manufacturing. Phase I and Phase II of the plant have been put into operation in November 2019 and December 2020 respectively, leading the industry in cleanliness, foreign matter control and automation. On January 27, 2021, SVOLT Energy and Suining signed an agreement on the construction of a 20GWh power battery production base; On February 19th, SVOLT Energy signed a contract with Huzhou, planning to build a new power battery base with an annual output of 20GWh in the South Taihu New District of Huzhou. On our overseas battery factory, we plan to invest 2 billion Euros and build a 24GWh capacity factory in Germany, and build a European R&D center and a 40,000-ton cathode material factory. It is estimated that by 2025, the global planned total capacity will be increased to 200GWh.

On supply, SVOLT Energy has conducted active and in-depth communication with major domestic car companies, and has obtained the fixed procurement point of more than ten domestic and foreign mainstream car companies. With the mass production of products, the installed capacity has jumped into the top ten of the industry for many times, ranking sixth in the industry in February 2021; Overseas, the company has signed a 7GWh purchase contract with a large European car company. With the improvement of production capacity, in 2021, the company’s shipments will hit the top five in the industry.

III. Salary and Employee Benefits

  1. Salary and welfare: five insurances and one fund, performance bonus, year-end bonus, with the comprehensive salary of 15, depending on the position and rank

  2. Accommodation standard: Single room/double room/quadruple room or corresponding accommodation allowance, free working meal, overtime meal and the extra meal allowance of 200 Yuan/month
