Series Activities of Enterprise Trip by the Students in This School for “Boosting Youth Dreams and Practicing Craftsman’s Sprit” in 2023 - Going into SAIC-GM (Wuhan) Park

On the afternoon of June 1, the activity of Enterprise Trip by the Students in This School for “Boosting Youth Dreams and Practicing Craftsman’s Sprit” in 2023 was launched in SAIC-GM Wuhan Branch. Luo Caiwei, the employment commissioner of this School, and Zhang Binbin from the Department of Industrial Design, led a total of 35 undergraduate students in this School to go into the SAIC-GM (Wuhan) Park, to thoroughly understand the professional prospects, increase practical experience and help students improve their future career structure.

 Yan Qiong, an expert on new energy products, introduced the development history and enterprise architecture of SAIC-GM to teachers and students, especially from the strategic deployment of new energy vehicles under the background of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality and the technology and product quality of new energy battery in detail.

Afterwards, led by the engineer, the students visited SAIC-GM’s BDU production line and technician workshop on site and gained a new understanding of the production process of the automated workshop. Finally, the students took a test drive of Buick’s new all-electric vehicle “Buick E5” to experience the functional features of new energy vehicles and learn about the innovations in range, interior and design of new energy vehicles.

After this enterprise trip, students exclaimed that the trip had refreshed their understanding of the factory workshop. There were almost no people in the fully automated production workshop, and it was not a hard and stuffy factory operation, but mechanization and automation instead. Freshman student Lin Ziyang expressed a new understanding of his professional studies and the need to rethink his future planning.

  “An Enterprise Trip” is an important part of university-enterprise collaborative education activities for “Boosting Youth Dreams and Practicing Craftsman’s Sprit”, and is also an important measure of this School to guide the student employment.
