The First Regular Meeting of the Student Affairs Leading Group of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in March 2023

At 16:00 p.m. on the afternoon of Mar. 1, the first regular meeting of the student affairs leading group of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in March was held in the Conference Room 502 of No. 2 Teaching Building. Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School, presided over the meeting, and all counselors of the student affairs leading group attended the meeting.

I. The participants reported and exchanged information on real-time data of students in school, visits to student dormitories, lectures attendance, and the students’ ideological trends

II. The participants reported and exchanged views on recent work

1. Du Yu, Secretary of the Youth League Committee and graduate student counselor, reported on the planning of labor education and patriotic health campaign for graduate students, preliminary mapping of key projects such as Challenge Cup and “Internet+”, continuous promotion of alumni lectures, and the improvement of “one table” of postgraduate information; the proposed launch of Science and Technology Culture Festival and Robotics Competition finals, and the joint volunteer service activities carried out by the university and enterprise in the community for learning the spirit of Lei Feng.

2. Ding Yufeng, the instructor of the Student Union and student awards and subsidies, and counselor of Grade 2021 and 2019, reported on the work of class cohesion building, holding class teachers meeting, coordinating the “First Class of the New Semester”, selecting the top ten influencers, planning Women’s Day activities, and planning special activities for Lei Feng Day; the proposed mid-term defense of student union, grass music festival and chess tournament, etc.

3. Liu Biao, the Party building instructor and counselor of Grade 2020, reported on the work of holding class teachers meeting, holding working meeting for student leaders of the grade, promoting Party member recruiting and regularization, formulating the report plan of student party branch secretaries on party building, holding the regular meeting attended by party branch secretaries, and improving the construction of party member material archives; the proposed work of mapping the students’ employment intention, and holding of the report meeting attended by Party branch secretaries on party building.

4. Luo Caiwei, the employment specialist, safety and mental health education instructor, and counselor of Grade 2022, reported on the holding of class teachers working meeting, one-on-one communication with class student leaders, planning the class meeting on the theme of “First Class of the New Semester”, updating the graduates’ employment progress, and continuing the series of enterprise visiting activities.

5. Liu Qianyi, a part-time counselor of Grade 2019, reported on the holding of the class teachers meeting, the distribution of university anniversary T-shirts, the psychological dynamic survey of graduates, and the postgraduate entrance examination and employment information statistics of graduates.

III. Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee, listened to the reports and arranged the work for the near term

1. Carry out research and study on the construction of counselor team, student party building, academic style building, and safety and mental health education, to promote the quality of student work and better serve the growth of students.

2. Continuously promote the development of twinning and piloting activities of faculty and student party branches to strengthen the work quality and effectiveness.

3. Educate and guide junior students for morning exercises, strengthen publicity, and help them adjust and adapt to the resumption of regular academic life.

4. We should select and cultivate advanced models of student groups, strengthen publicity, and play the leading role of peers.

5. We should check and improve according to the standards and requirements for creating excellence, consolidate the construction of Party branches, strengthen the education and management of party members, and give full play to the role of the Party branch as a battle fortress and the exemplary vanguard role of Party members.

6. Vigorously promote the series of activities on learning from Lei Feng, pay attention to the organic combination with the construction of basic civilization, and create a good atmosphere of “everyone learns from Lei Feng, and Lei Feng is everywhere”.

7. Continue to strengthen students’ safety awareness education and mental health education, carry out propaganda work in a form popular with students, to strengthen the work effect and quality and to ensure students’ physical and mental health and property safety.

8. We will continue to promote the employment of graduates in 2023, start the employment guidance for graduates in 2024 in advance, continuously push the job information, regularly release the information on special job fairs of the university and school, and regularly update the employment progress data and the work account of students with employment difficulties, to promote full employment.
