“Boosting Youth Dreams and Practicing Craftsman’s Sprit” – The School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information Holds the First Special Lecture on “Dialogue · Enterprise”

On the afternoon of March 9, the first special lecture on “Dialogue · Enterprise” was held in Room 301, No. 2 Teaching Building. Xia Kangning, head of the Human Resources Department of FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co., Ltd., was invited to give a keynote report on the industry development dynamics entitled “Set Sail from FiberHome” to 130 students majoring in communication at the school.

Based on the current situation and achievements of the communication industry and the actual development of the company, Xia Kangning talked about the development history, development scale and future prospects of optical communication. As the world’s only solution provider integrating the three major optical communication strategic areas of optical communication systems, fiber optic cables, and optoelectronic devices, FiberHome has encountered many challenges and difficulties in its development process. However, the company has always adhered to integrity and innovation, insisted on independent research and development and self-reliance, bears in mind and implements requirement that the core technology, key technology and the national treasure must be based on ourselves as emphasized by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to the group, and takes up the important responsibility that the enterprise should have.

Xia Kangning also gave a detailed introduction to the company’s product application fields, production scale, various job responsibilities, talent selection standards, and encouraged students to make career development plans based on scientific analysis of their own situation.

During the interactive session, the students watched the corporate video of “China Core” and were encouraged and confident in their major. They also exchanged views on the quality of students, job requirements and work content. Lin, a freshman, said that after listening to the lecture, he realized that English is also one of the important requirements for companies to select talents, and he felt that his future study goals would be clearer and more motivated.
