The Second Regular Meeting of the Student Affairs Leading Group of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in March 2023

At 10:00 a.m. on the morning of Mar. 15, the second regular meeting of the student affairs leading group of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information in March was held in the Conference Room 502 of No. 2 Teaching Building. Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School, presided over the meeting, and all counselors of the student affairs leading group attended the meeting.

I. The participants reported and exchanged information on real-time data of students in school, visits to student dormitories, lectures attendance, and the students’ ideological trends

II. The participants reported and exchanged views on recent work

1. Du Yu, Secretary of the Youth League Committee and graduate student counselor, reported on the volunteering services in the community, the holding of Youth League and student organizations assessment and appraisal meeting, the mapping of key projects such as Challenge Cup and “Internet+”, the labor education for graduate students, the final of the basketball tournament of graduate students, the proposed promotion of Science and Technology Culture Festival and Robotics Competition finals, and the May Fourth evaluation of excellence.

2. Ding Yufeng, the instructor of the Student Union and student awards and subsidies, and counselor of Grade 2021 and 2019, reported on the work of holding regular meeting attended by the class and League cadres, heart-to-heart talk with students about academic issues, completing ideological dynamic investigation, summarizing the “First Class of the New Semester”, carrying out special patriotic health campaign activities, mid-term defense of student union, and the first grass music festival, as well as the proposed events, such as comprehensive assessment of this semester, the application of talent project, “Qingming kites flying” activity, and the  planning of “May Fourth” chorus competition.

3. Liu Biao, the Party building instructor and counselor of Grade 2020, reported on the work of registering the employment information group for Grade 2024, sorting out and improving the statistics of students' information, carrying out the grading report and evaluation of student party branch secretaries, the tweets on hot discussion of the two sessions by teachers and students, completing the preliminary allocation of party members recruiting quota for the whole year, summarizing and reporting of paired student-teacher party branches, reviewing the party members’ archived materials, as well as the proposed work of holding a new training course for party members, continuing to map out the students’ employment intention of Grade 2020, and completing the training of new recruiting candidates.

4. Luo Caiwei, the employment specialist, safety and mental health education instructor, and counselor of Grade 2022, reported on the working of holding special job fair for enterprises, holding the first special lecture on “”, holding an employment promotion meeting for students of Grade 2019 taking postgraduate entrance examination, taking with main student leaders in the class one by one, and class attendance and dormitory visits, as well as the proposed work of continuing the series of enterprise visiting activities, holding lectures related to corporate cognition, guiding resumes, and conducting psychological training lectures.

5. Liu Qianyi, a part-time counselor of Grade 2019, reported on the work of sorting out the employment assistance and countermeasures account for the students with four kinds of difficulties, preparing graduation souvenirs, and making statistics on the employment progress of graduates.

III. Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee, listened to the reports and arranged the work for the near term

1. Relying on the existing basic civilization building program, implement the rules and regulations for morning exercises, educate and guide the lower grades to carry out good morning exercises, and continue to help students adjust and adapt to the regular study life.

2. Explore the resources of all parties to innovate the form of thematic class meetings and grade assemblies to create a good learning and living atmosphere for students to be positive and to learn from each other.

3. Under the existing work framework, we should open up ideas, think positively, pay close attention to party building work, highlight the role of political leadership, and improve the effectiveness of party building work.

4. We should summarize and condense the effect and significance of each work, improve the standing, grasp the timeliness of publicity and enhance the quality of work.

5. Continue to promote the school leaders to take charge of the employment affairs of graduation classes and further improve the working mechanism.

IV. Participants discussed and reached consensus on improving students’ awareness of fraud prevention and anti-fraud, as well as the theme of the regular class teacher meeting in March.
