Sunshine Youth | Gathering Volunteer Power to Build a Green and Civilized Campus

In order to further beautify the campus environment and enhance the students' awareness of environmental protection, on the afternoon of November 10, Xiangyang Youth Volunteers Association of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, together with Chuguang Youth Volunteers Association and Red Star Youth Volunteers Association, carried out the fourth campus environment cleaning activity of this academic year.

At 2:00 p.m. on November 10, 29 volunteers from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, School of Earth Resources and School of Automation gathered together to carry out campus cleaning activities. Under the guidance of sanitation workers, the volunteers took brooms, garbage bags and other tools to clean up in three groups, cleaning up garbage on the lawns and sidewalks in the west and north areas respectively, and sweeping away the dead branches and leaves on the roads. During the activity, the volunteers were enthusiastic and gave full play to the spirit of "not being afraid of hardship and tiredness", cooperating with each other, meticulously cleaning up.

At 5:30 pm, the cleaning activity was completed and the campus became tidier and more beautiful.

After this activity, the volunteers were full of rewards. Tang Guang, a volunteer from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information, shared his feelings: “In this volunteer activity, the group led us to finish the campus cleaning, although the process was a bit hard, but the heart was really very happy. This activity made me realize how hard it is to clean the campus, and understand and admire the sanitation workers more. I am also honored to make a contribution to beautifying the campus.”

Through this cleaning activity, the volunteers not only maintained the tidiness of the campus, but also experienced the value of labor and the hard work of sanitation workers. Xiangyang Youth Volunteers Association of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information will continue to pay attention to green environmental protection, carry out green activities, spread green ideas, and contribute youth power to building a green low-carbon campus.
