Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of CUG, Strengthening Beliefs - Student Party Members of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information Visited the Retired Faculty’s Calligraphy, Painting, Photography and Poetry Exhibition

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the university, the representatives of the student party members of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information went to the hall of the Retired Cadres Activity Center on November 7 to visit the calligraphy, painting, photography, poetry and lyrics exhibition of the retired staff of University, and relived the glorious years when the university and the party and the country were of one heart, one direction and one walk through the works.

With the theme of “Greeting the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Celebrating the Anniversary of CUG”, the exhibition is carefully arranged with four exhibition sections, namely, photography, calligraphy, painting and handicraft. Through hundreds of works, it shows in detail the glorious tradition of the retired staff members who love the Party and the country, honor the university and love the university, and deeply reflects the retired staff members' positive attitude of "retirement without fading", and their sincere feelings of continuing to play their spare energy to help the campus culture construction.

During the visit, retired faculty members Zhao Junming, Zeng Zuoxun, Sun Lipeng, Yang Yun and Liu Guoping had in-depth exchanges with student Party members from time to time, and gave vivid and detailed explanations in combination with the displayed works. The “Communist Manifesto”, a 30 meter long calligraphy work with 72 pages and more than 15,000 words, shows the retired teachers’ love and respect for the Party, the motherland and the university. The meaningful couplet tells the history of the University and summarizes the struggle for its development. Professor Zeng Zuoxun recited his prose works on the spot, expressing the touching story of the great achievements made by talents in CUG and the great rewards of the masters and scholars from CUG to the society. The calligraphy works, photography pictures, handicraft cultural creations, and the rich physical display attracted the attention of student Party members, deepened their understanding of the glorious history of the University, and inspired them to always play a pioneering role, carry forward the fine tradition, and better uphold the spirit of the school motto of hardworking and plain-living, being realistic and pragmatic.

It is understood that this activity is one of the important activities for the student party branch of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information to learn the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and celebrate the 70th anniversary of CUG, and it is also an important carrier of the “student-faculty” party branch twinning and piloting activities. The student party branch of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information will continue to strengthen the contact with the some party branches of retired cadre office, build a platform for retired teachers and staff to give full play to their ability and enthusiasm, and promote the high-quality development of student party building with practical actions.
