Work Set-up Meeting in Autumn Semester and the First Regular Meeting in September of the Student Affairs Leading Group of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information

At 10:00am on Sept. 7, the work set-up meeting in autumn semester and the first regular meeting in September of the Student Affairs Leading Group of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information was held in the Conference Room 502 of No. 2 Teaching Building. Yu Xiaozhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the School, presided over the meeting, and all counselors of the student affairs leading group attended the meeting.

I. The participants reported on the students’ return to school in the new semester and exchanged their thoughts and concerns since the beginning of the school year

II. The participants discussed and exchanged views on the key tasks of the new semester in the light of the annual work points of the university and school

1. Du Yu, Secretary of the Youth League Committee and graduate student counselor, mainly introduced the work plans and arrangements of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the organization of the 70th anniversary of CUG, the preparation for a series of activities for Science and Technology Cultural Festival of the School, the selection and recognition of students' role models, and the planning of December 9th chorus of the university.

2. Ding Yufeng, the instructor of the student union and student awards and subsidies, and counselor of Grade 2021 and 2019, highlighted the work plans and arrangements of the evaluation of scholarship and grant, the organization and planning of sports meeting of the School, and the implementation and promotion of academic style construction. 

3. Luo Caiwei, the mental health education and employment instructor and counselor of Grade 2022, focused on the arrangement of entrance education series activities for new students, the arrangement of military training related plans and the implementation of employment promotion.

4. Liu Biao, the Party building instructor and counselor of Grade 2020, mainly introduced the work plans and arrangements, such as welcoming, learning and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China by students, the progress of the "student faculty" party branch paired leadership, the preparation of the School’s student party meeting, the development of student party members, and daily business training.

5. The participants jointly discussed and deliberated on the key tasks, and agreed to further refine the initiatives and make thorough arrangements to ensure that the work is effective.

III. Yu Xiaozhou put forward requirements for work in the new semester

1. It is necessary to implement the requirements of the university on safety management, and further strengthen the reminders and corresponding education management for students to comply with the epidemic prevention and control requirements.

2. It is necessary to cooperate with the School to do a good job in class assignment and entrance education management for new students.

3. It is necessary to go deep into classes to listen to lectures and communicate with students in the dormitory, so as to achieve full coverage of students in all grades, and hold regular class teacher meetings to communicate and feedback relevant information in a timely manner.

4. We should continue to strengthen the employment guidance for the graduating grade, enhance their employment competitiveness, and continue to promote the employment of the unemployed graduates in 2022 and the fresh graduates in 2023.

5. We should take the improvement of the quality of student party building as the key task of the whole year, continue to promote it and pay constant attention to it.

6. It is necessary to strengthen the awareness of active publicity, pay attention to publicity channels and effects, actively think about and plan the key work of the new semester, take educating people and talents as the fundamental starting point, and highlight the characteristics.
