Recently, the series of enterprise visiting activities of “Boosting Youth Dreams and Practicing Craftsman’s Sprit” for the Students of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information were carried out for the first time. A total of 30 junior and senior students, led by Luo Caiwei and Mamat, counselors of the Student Affairs Leading Group, visited FiberHome Telecommunication.
Firstly, Chen Xiaowu, Deputy General Manager of Public R&D Department of FiberHome Telecommunication, introduced the development history of the company, enterprise technology development in recent years and future development direction. In combination with the characteristics of new engineering majors, he told the students about the integration of majors with new technologies, new industries and new business forms. He encouraged the students to devote themselves to practice, give full play to their personal strengths, maintain their scientific pursuit and enthusiasm, and work hard for national industrial innovation while achieving their personal goals.
After that, Zhong Liang, Human Resources Manager of Public R&D Department, with the theme of “Communication Industry in the Era of Digital Economy”, talked about the development and demand of communication industry, employment demand of enterprises, career planning and job hunting in the current era of digital economy. After listening to the keynote report, the students exchanged and interacted with the enterprise personnel around the current employment environment and talent training.
Finally, under the guidance of enterprise interpreter, the students visited the enterprise exhibition hall and listened to the development process of enterprise from the history of the group to the current situation, from the overall development of the group to the layout of industries at home and abroad, from optoelectronic chips, marine networks to urban security solutions. Especially the breakthrough development of various types of chips shocked the students, and they also had a clearer understanding of the R&D field, scientific and technological innovation, and industry development.
The series of activities of "Boosting Youth Dreams and Practicing Craftsman’s Sprit" is an enterprise tour for students of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information to promote collaborative education between university and enterprises. It focuses on the fundamental task of moral education and values establishment, and combines the ideological and political education work with students’ career planning development and personal growth. Through field visits to enterprises, lectures and in-depth exchanges, the activity is to strengthen students’' ideals and beliefs, help students build their careers and establish a scientific and reasonable concept of employment selection, while guiding students to internalize their responsibilities, strengthen their professional identity, participate in industry development and build a strong country in science and technology.
