Tan Songyuan (Electronics and Communication Engineering 2019-4)

My name is Tan Songyuan and I come from Karamay City, Xinjiang. Decades ago, the place where I live was a desolate Gobi beach, just like the "Song of Karamay", which says, "There are no trees, no water, and even the birds don't fly". With the news of the discovery of a large oil field in the Karamay area of the Junggar Basin spreading throughout the country, the first high-yielding oil well drilled was born since the founding of New China. Under such circumstances, countless oil workers came here, Karamay oil field entered the formal development, and the first female drilling team in New China was also set up in the oil field, with 21-year-old Wu Shuhua as the female drilling instructor.

Wu Shuhua faced even more severe tests in family, society, technology and physical strength. With perseverance and determination to overcome all difficulties, she led the women's drilling team. Like all male comrades, they did what they did. With "a hand that can only hold a rust needle", they hit the Tong, held the brake handle and pulled up the spearhead, brilliantly demonstrating the new style of the new Chinese oil workers.

The hands of these oil workers held up the development of the small frontier city of Karamay, and a large number of development wells and exploratory wells were drilled in Heiyoushan, Hongshanzui and Qianshan Flood Dam one after another. Tall buildings rise up one after another, and brilliant lights light up every corner of the city. The deeds of the female drilling team and Wu Shuhua have become an important part of the spirit of Karamay, constantly inspiring the young people of the oil city.

Zhang Dazhong (Electronics and Communication Engineering 2019-4)

My name is Zhang Dazhong, and my hometown is Wuxue City, a county-level city under the administration of Huanggang City in Hubei Province, China, located on the north bank of the Yangtze River, at the southern foot of Dabie Mountain, on the edge of the eastern part of Hubei Province, at the head of Wu and at the tail of Chu, and it has always been the "thoroughfare of three provinces and seven counties" in the contiguous areas of Hubei, Anhui and Jiangxi. Cave City, formerly known as Guangji County, was formerly known as the "Land of Buddha", which means “giving Buddhist teachings to all sentient beings”. Wuxiu City has the honorary titles of Gardening Model County, China's Hometown of Rapes, Industrial City in Hubei Province, Civilized City in Hubei Province, Home of Chinese Wushu, Advanced City of Science and Technology in China, and the Home of Chinese Poetry.

At the foot of Yuping mountain, Dafasi Town, Wuxue City, there is a war martyrs monument, which seems to be silently telling the past of the martyrs. Since Tianjia Town in Wuxue has been the throat of the Yangtze River from Wuhan to Nanjing and Shanghai since ancient times, as long as we fight on the Yangtze River waterway, we must occupy Tianjia Town fortress and Banbi Mountain and Fuchikou fortress on the other side. On September 6, 1938, Japanese troops who had captured Wukong Town attacked Tianjia Town in a roundabout way. That was a blocking battle. The attack and defense of the enemy and us were extremely fierce. The Japanese aircraft and ship guns were bombarded fiercely. The Chinese defenders fought bloody battles and seriously damaged the Japanese army. The defense battle of Tianjia Town fortress lasted 15 days. The war burned every hill here, more than 17,000 anti-Japanese heroes died heroically to choke the last barrier in Wuhan. After the war, the local villagers, only found more than a thousand relatively intact remains, buried them here.

What we have today is what the martyrs of the past won for us with their blood. As contemporary young Party members, we should remember history, forge ahead and strive for a better future for our motherland.

Wang Yu (Electronics and Communication Engineering 2019-4)

My name is Wang Yu, from Yangxin County, Huangshi City. "Little Yangxin, all the people are one, there are food and soldiers if you want them." A song in the revolutionary era made Yangxin County, which is located in the southeast corner of Hubei Province, famous. During the Revolutionary period, Yangxin had 200,000 heroic sons and daughters who died for the country, stirring up great ideals and writing magnificent poems in the revolutionary tide in full swing, and many martyr forefathers in the country were born here, and Luo Wei was one of them.

In 1918, Luo Wei was admitted to Yangxin High School. He then went to Wuhan, where he studied at the Cungu School in Wuchang and met such Communists as Xiao Chunv and Yun Daiying, and his ideological consciousness rapidly increased. In early 1924, Luo Wei gloriously joined the Chinese Communist Party. In 1926, after the start of the Northern Expeditionary War, the revolutionary situation in Hubei changed drastically. According to the Party's instruction, Luo Wei returned to Yangxin and started to prepare for the establishment of the CPC Yangxin County Committee. In August 1926, the first CPC Yangxin County Committee was born and he was elected as the secretary of the county committee. On December 25 of the same year, Luo Wei led a big anti-imperialist, anti-feudal and anti-warlord demonstration with the participation of more than 20,000 workers, peasants and students, which strongly combated the arrogance of the reactionary forces.

History is changing and times are changing. In the new era, as a Communist Party member, we should learn from our revolutionary ancestors, inherit their heroic spirit, never forget our original intention, remember our mission, strive to be heroes, and strive to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
