On the evening of September 25, the 3rd semester grade meeting of Grade 2020 was held by this School in Room 109, No. 3 Teaching Building. Liu Biao, the counselor of Grade 2020, presided over the meeting, and all students in Grade 2020 attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Liu Biao made a theme-focused report entitled Putting" Innovation in An Important Position in the Overall Situation of Becoming Talents". The report was divided into four parts: 1. Review and analysis of the first year in the university; 2. The relationship between innovation and being talents; 3. Establishing the main position of innovation; 4. Disadvantages in innovation ability.
When summing up the work in the first year, Liu Biao said that in the past academic year, the majority of students had realized an important change from "gradual adaptation" to "accustomization". The specific manifestations included: learning habits had been basically formed; learning motivation had been fully simulated; learning methods had taken shape; learning effectiveness had been improved steadily. At the same time, some students still continued to lower their academic requirements and lost their academic goals, resulting in the gradual deepening of academic burnout. He stressed that all classes should take the initiative to explore the negative factors that affect learning, find out the problems from the source, and drive the high-quality construction of classes with the high-quality construction of study style. In the sophomore year, all students should keep pace with the times, constantly strengthen the cultivation of innovative thinking, adopt a solid academic foundation as a powerful lever for scientific and technological innovation, and strive to achieve the joint improvement of academic achievement and innovation ability.
In his report, Liu Biao pointed out that since 18th Party Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping attached great importance to scientific and technological innovation, and put forward a series of new ideas, new judgements and new requirements. We should learn deeply and understand the relationship between innovation and talent from the bottom of our hearts. From the perspective of national policies, innovation is in the core position in the overall situation of China's modernization; from the perspective of development trend, to adapt to the new round of scientific, technological and industrial revolution, we can only rely on innovation; from the perspective of development path, to grasp innovation is to grasp the future; from the perspective of goal effectiveness, innovation is one of the strongest driving forces to promote personal growth. All students should strengthen the cultivation of innovation ability with the sense of urgency of " recession without innovation", and put innovation in an important position in the overall situation of becoming talents with practical actions.
Liu Biao summarized the advantages of the undergraduates in "establishing the main position of innovation" in combination with the actual work of this School. He said that the rich professional competitions and the comprehensive scientific research competitions provided a platform for the training of innovation ability, and many scientific and technological associations provided a carrier for the cultivation of innovation ability, adaptation to the discipline direction of socialist modernization, provided a stage for the exertion of innovation efficiency. The undergraduates in this School should establish the main position of innovation, take the cultivation of innovation ability as one of the important logical starting points on the way to the talents, fully stimulate their talents and make continuous progress towards the goal of leading talents in new engineering.
Liu Biao finally said that the sophomore year was a key year connecting the preceding and the following, a special period for energy storage and long voyage, and the best time to be in bud.
