It’s another new school season and the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information is welcoming a vigorous new force On September 3, we met the freshmen by the lotus pond. Welcome, 2021 new students!
In order to do a good job in the reception of freshmen of Grade 2021 and ensure the smooth registration of freshmen, the Party Committee of School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information attached great importance to it, set up a reception work group, organized all students to hold the reception coordination meetings, and made meticulous arrangements for all aspects of reception work.
The reception work of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Information officially kicked off at 8 a.m. on September 3. The volunteers and student organizations were full of enthusiasm and strived to leave a good first impression for freshmen.
The leaders of the school personally directed work at the reception site, extended sincere greetings to the freshmen, and affirmed the work of the volunteers who received the freshmen. Qu Xianghua, Secretary of the Party committee of the school, had a cordial exchange with the parents of freshmen and introduced the relevant situation of the school to the parents. He introduced the basic situation of the school, discipline construction, professional training, future development and other aspects to parents, answered their doubts, and put forward valuable suggestions for students’ study in school.
The volunteers guided the freshmen to register in an orderly manner and helped them go through various admission procedures. They actively answered the questions raised by freshmen and parents and introduced the university and school to them. When the volunteers were asked about their feelings of welcoming the new students, they said with emotion: “Seeing the vigorous schoolmates is like seeing the self who was full of expectations for the future. When I see them smiling, I also hope they can always maintain this innocence, with their good expectations for the university, maintain a positive attitude every day, and go further on the road of studying in CUG.”
In every corner of the campus, the camera recorded the wonderful moments between the freshmen of Grade 2021 and their parents. The freshmen’s faces were filled with smiles and they were preparing for college life with their parents and volunteers. A freshman excitedly expressed his feelings on his first day at school: “After entering the big campus, I saw many volunteers, who were very enthusiastic and gave us a feeling of stability. The teachers are also very kind and very enthusiastic to chat with me. I am very happy to study in such an environment!”
With the arrival of the last student, the one-day reception activity officially ended. A total of 141 volunteers participated in this reception activity, helping more than 700 freshmen to settle down smoothly. I hope that the new students will find a clear direction in the process of moving forward, make constant efforts, implement the school motto, and blossom their own light!
